    Default HDFC cheque bounce charges

    Hi,

My name goverdhan bandala, i have a salary account with hdfc bank a/c# 05451610060054. The return cheque charges for the first time in the quarter they are charging Rs.386/- (three hundred & eighty six rupees) which includes service tax. After that when ever there is a cheque bounce, they are treating it as second cheque return for that quarter i.e., April, May & June and charging Rs.827/- (eight hundred twenty seven rupees) for every cheque return.

I am really fed up with the bank service and have no idea how to deal with such banks.

Kindly look into this and do the needful.

    Thanks & regards,

    Dear Mr Bandala,

All the charges levied by the Bank are in line with the fee schedule published on our website, and we regret that we are unable to waive off the same.

We always advise our customers to maintain sufficient funds in their account when issuing a cheque, to avoid precisely such instances.

We request your co-operation and look forward to your continued patronage.

    Regards, Customer Assistance, HDFC Bank

Default HDFC bank check bouncing charges

    Hi,

My name is Tarun Agrawal, I have my salary account# 07951140011155 and issued a check to HDFC for processing fees on loan. My check was dishonored and reason stated was non-sufficiency of funds. Though, I was having money in my FD. This bank has given me the embarrassing experience and heading to file a complaint against RBI as poor services established by them to banks ombudsman.

At the same time, I found the irregularity in allocating the lockers. Their criteria to allocate lockers are based on the investment made by the applicant of locker.

This is a clear example of different stories framed by the different representatives to meet out their target for the investments.

I am not sure whether we can get the money back which they already charged as check return charges. But this gave a clear insight that their operations are mis-managed with no fair policies and with the people having no vision and fairness towards their customer.

    Thanks,
    Tarun Agrawal

    Hi,

I am a classic customer of HDFC bank. However, now I am not happy with their service. They charge me Rs. 386/- for cheque return charge though the check got cleared. Let me explain the case,

I have a balance of Rs. 50000/- in my savings a/c on 26-Sep.
I deposited a outstation non-HDFC cheque of amount Rs. 65000/- in the same a/c on 26-Sep.
And on 26-Sep my balance was showing Rs. 115000/- but the cheque actually cleared on 28-Sep.
On 28-Sep I issued a cheque of Rs. 100000/- to my friend and he deposited the cheque on same day.
Later, I saw in netbanking that on 28-Sep Rs. 100000/- has been debited from my a/c and the closing balance was Rs. 15000/-
Again Rs. 100000/- has been credited on the same day stating that cheque returned and the closing balance was Rs. 115000/-
On 29-Sep, Again Rs. 100000/- has been debited for the same cheque and closing balance showed as Rs. 15000/-

Till then I didn't have any issues but the problem happened on 06-Oct when they charged Rs. 386 for cheque returned fee. I called to HDFC customer care and they said the cheque bounce in the morning and my outstation cheque got cleared in the afternoon. As per my knowledge, A check can be bounce if the sufficient fund not available till the COB of that day. If I am not wrong then, HDFC is doing fraud with us. Can anyone please advise me with expert comments.

    Thanks in advance,
    N Bera
