Dear Sir,
I want to file a complaint against HDFC Credit Card department especially against a guy named Raju(This was the name he told, Not sure). The mobile number from which I got the call is +919282511733.
Here we go with the things happened from the scratch. I was using the HDFC credit card since last year and it was surrendered during the 1st week of Feb 2010.
When I was using the card I use to get calls from customer care saying that I have to pay a due about of xxx and they will send the executive and I used to pay the amount receiving the receipt from him in person. Important thing to be noted is I HAVE NEVER RECEIVED MY STATMENT BY EMAIL OR POST INSPITE OF REQUESTING FOR MANY TIMES. So whatever due amount the executives tell I used to pay.
Then during the last week of Jan 2010 I planned to surrender my credit card for various reason and called up the Customer care. They told me that I have to pay a total of 18,350 Rs. I found that I have to pay only 17500 as per the transactions made and called up customer care again. They told that its true but I have to pay 850 Rs more as Late payment fee which I refused.
MISTAKES OF THE HDFC BANK
1. THEY HAVEN'T SENT ME THE STATEMENT EITHER BY MAIL OR POST INSPITE OF REQUESTING MANY TIMES.
2. BECAUSE OF THE ABOVE REASON WHENEVER CUSTOMER CARE PEOPLE CALLS AND WHEN I VERRIFY ABOUT THE AMOUNT THEY JUST TOLD THE MINIMUM DUE INSPITE OF ASKING IF IT IS THE TOTAL AMOUNT
I have always paid the amount whenver asked for and I was not ready to pay the late payment fees of 850 Rs as it was not my mistake. Then I surrendered the card by sending the broken card to the bank and I got a ankowledgement mail for the same.
From my end I have mail proof and receipts for the payments made and I can provide the copy of these whenever required.
Now I want to file the below complaint
Thought the card has been surrendered on Feb 2010 itself I got a call today.
A guy named Raju(the name he told me) called me today afternoon from a mobile number +919282511733 and conversaion went as below
Raju : Hello!! Is this Padmapriya?
Me: Yes!
Raju: We are calling from HDFC bank Credit card legal department
Me: Yes Sir. Tell me. Whats the matter?
Raju: You have a due for 5000 Rs which need to be paid at the earliest
Me: Sir! Even 2 months back I got a call for the same issue from your executives and I told clearly that I have surrendered the card by Feb 2010 itself. I have proof for all payments made and when I surrendered I was asked to pay late payment fee of 850 Rs which I refused to pay as it was not my fault
Raju: No other go mam!! Now you have to pay 5000 bugs.
Me: No I am not going to pay a single penny
Raju: (At this stage he started using filthy words forgeting the fact he is talking with a girl. I am not ready to mention the words came from his mouth as this is a public Forum. So am Censor Cut here..

)
Me: Please mind your words else I will be filing a complaint with police
Raju: Do whatver you want. I am not aftraid of anything. If you dont pay the amount in couple of days I will be sending GUNDAAS to your home. They know the tactice of getting money from you.
Me: Dont you feel ashamed to talk like this inspire of working in a reputed bank.
Raju:This is my job. My bank is paying me only for doing this.
Me: I got frustrated and disconnected the call. Even after that he called me for more than 10 times but I dodnt pick.
Then I came to know that he has called my father and shouted at him. He said that his language was like a person from slum and it didnt sound like a bank executed in any aspects.
I told this to my husband and he called him. That guy shouted at my husband too.
I am really fed up becasue of this. Before using such a language the executives should think for a while. When I am able to pay the entire amount for 17500 before surrendering the card can't I pay the extra amount of 850 Rs. The reason for not paying is that it was not my fault.
Now I am not afraid of the way he threated me or the words he used. I am going to file a complaint against Raju and HDFC Bank with the Consumer Court and doing the ground work for that. Also, I am planning to file a complaint in Lady Police station within couple of days.
Before doing that I just want to place complaint in this forum and check if something is going to work out. I am expecting a apology from him which might restrict me in going ro consumer court and Lady Police station.Please feel free to mail me at

Note: Whatever I have mentioned is true to the best of my knowledge and I am ready to provide mail proof and scanned copy of payment receipts whenever needed.
