    Default ICICI bank laid back attitude

    In the recent days we have been banking with ICICI bank ltd cox town for our foriegn trade, we submitted documents for collection, after repeated reminders the bank processed the documents and sent them for collection to our overseas client(his bank) its an ordeal to actually bank with them, as for the collection we had to call the bank every evening and morning to know what is the status of the case and the only reply we got was that their central team sitting in mumbai is processing it and they will revert only by 6pm if any queries raised it needs to be processed the following day, this went on for almost a week every day by 6pm they call me and tell me there is a query please answer them and we will take it up tomorrow as we are closing now, it came to a point where it was unbearable so had to write to the regional head/cluster bank manager, and then the things started to roll forward, one fine day while on a trip to muscat i get a call from my customer syaing he recieved the documents and will be recieving the goods by evening that day! i called the bank to know if the payment had been done since the documents are released and wanted to ensure that as per my instructions the documents were released upon payments but to my luck that was not the case the next day i followed up with my client for payment he said that our bank has goofed up but he has instructed his bank to make payments for the collection and in the next 2hrs i get a call from my client complaining about the quality of the goods, i was jinxed i did'nt know what was happening 1st of all he's got the documents and he's got the goods but no sign of payments, upon arrival to india i headed straight to my bank and discovered that they have sent the documents on DA basis instead of DP, this follows up with a string of meetings and complaint sessions with the bank, it so happens that i'm a engineer and with very limited knowledge about banking and trade while filling up the application for XFC(collection) there's a column which asks for the tenor i was'nt sure what it meant hence i asked the banker about it he said its generally mentioned as 30days told him i intend to send these documents on DP strictly, i suggested i'd leave it blank since i did'nt know he replied if i left it blank the central team in mumbai would raise queries and delay the collection process, so i went by his word that it did'nt matter and he'd make sure that these documents will be sent on DP basis only, incidentally its the same banker i had complained regarding delayed processing of collection (XFC). ICICI bank ltd and its staff have a bad laid back attitude towards its existing customers and are always reeling for new accounts, its a cumbersome experience to visit cox town branch of the ICICI bank ltd because 1) for cash transations smaller denominations are always soiled and torn notes
    2) the printer and scanners seldom work, the staff keeps complaining about systems not working properly 3) everybody in the branch are so worried about getting new accounts that they dont concentrate on the existing clients and servicing, even the cluster head is always shouting at the junior staff for not bringing in new customers its such a bad taste to experience, when there's a distraught customer sitting in the bank the cluster head is bothered only about the no of accounts opened for the day, I HAVE MADE A RESOLUTION TO ADVICE MY FELLOW ENTREPREUNERS/VENDORS/CUSTOMERS/FRIENDS and myself ofcourse to avoid banking with ICICI bank. ICICI BANK PLEASE WAKE UP AND SERVICE YOUR EXISTING CUSTOMERS I'M SURE THEY WILL BRING YOU IMMENSE BUSINESS, ALSO PLEASE TRAIN YOUR STAFF IN BANKING AND PROCEDURES NOT MANY OF THEM KNOW EVEN THE BASICS OF IT.
