I have a NRI account with ICICI Bank Bhubaneswar. I have created this account in Dec 2004 but never transacted after that. As per the agent I have opened this account with a minimum balance of $300. I reactivated the account very recently, but came to know current utstanding balance is reduced to 4421 INR. I was expected 13000 INR. When I contacted the NRI help desk number they intimated me to escalate it to nri@icicibank.com.
I drafted a mail ( from one of the personal mail box rediffmail) to nri@icicibank.com on 08-Oct-2011 but could not get any response.
When contacted on 10-Oct-2011, they told it make take one more day to respond.
Again contacted on 11-Oct-2011, they intimated you have to send the mail from your registered mail id.
I raised the concern that instead of harassing the customer if they could tell the fact upfront that would helped us a lot.The internal ticket number is also collected for back tarcking Ticket No:SR193347480) Still drafted the below and send it across to nri@icicibank.com.. still awaiting for a response.

I have raised a ticket for this issue. I am in touch with the customer care for last 5/6 days to get an update on the below. Didn't get any positive response. Neither got any response sent through online banking communication and mail sent from my other personal mail ids. Today only the helpdesk person intimated me that you have to send a mail from your registered mail id. Resending the same concern.

I have opened an NRI account at ICICi Bank Bhubaneswar India in 2005 with the requisite minimum balance of $300. I have not transacted the bank account since then due to some personal reasons. When I tried contacting the bank personnel, i was initmated that the account is having only 4400 INR ( expected was around 13000 INR). The balance amount is being deducted due to not keeping the minimum quarterly amount of 15000 INR.
I am deeply hurt by this as when I opened the account, it was intimated to me that only 300$ should be maintained. There will not be any hidden cost. I am not sure when the minimum amount of 15000 INR rule came into picture.
I do request you to consider my plea and revert back all the penalty which has been charged through out. I would wish to continue the service with ICICI bank with this gratefulness of yours
While discussing with the Helpdesk personnel, it came to my notice that minimum balance has been increased from 10000 INR to 15000 INR in the month oct 2008. Communications are sent to me to my correspondence address as well as registered e-mail box. As I was no more present in the correspondence address, i was sole dependent on my email box. Which never received as such intimation. Unfortunately bank authority never took pain to intimate me through other channels like permanent address.
Let me know your thoughts on this.
Hope with all these, I will be able to get a better service from ICICI bank
