Shri K V Krishnan,
Chief Regional Manager
Indian Overseas Bank
Madurai-625002

Sir,

Reg. Non payment of Family pension SB A/c No.7311, Veerasolan
Delayed by I O B Virudhunagar for the past 3 MONTHS
-o-

I an wife of Ex-serviceman Sep KT Nayagam who was drawing Military Pension. On his demise due to prolonged illness on 12-03-2009, I applied for Family pension. Family pension No. PPO F/NA/016514/2010/Army was sanctioned and forwarded by District Treasury Office to Veerasolam IOB Office in July 2010.

Before making payment, Veerasolan Branch sent the papers for approval of Virudhuanagar controlling office. Now the delay is understood to have been made by the Virudhunagar Controlling IOB Office in July 2010. Now about 3 months have elapsed but I am informed by Veerasolan Branch that papers are yet to be received from Virudhunagar; since the dealing staff at Virudhunagar has gone on leave. As an authority in the Indian Overseas Bank, you may understand the status of your staff how far they are irresponsible in their work which also indicates the chain of command and people from bottom to your position; who are reckless and un-conscious for the salary they are drawing.

I am very very poor since my husband retired as Sepoy. My only source of income was only my husband’s pension and other meagre income from local works. After his death for the past one year I am struggling hard for my daily meals which is unexpressable. This is a pride given by you the BANKERS to me, a wife an exserviceman for having rendered honourable national service.

I do not want to say the tale of my heart burning due to the slackness of your staff. Please remember I am not asking any mercy from you but the family pension granted to me by Defence Department, Govt. of India.

I look forward that You may do the needful to pay me within a week to make this Diwali a reasonable Festival for me. Failing which I may have to take legal action through Consumer Forum claiming a total of amount of ONE LAKH as a compensation for all the mental agony and sufferings on my daily life.

Thanking you,

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Indira Nayagam
