I Nitin Saxena was Account Holder of above mentioned account with HDFC Bank, Nehru Place Branch and I am residing of B-107, Shikha Apartment, Shalimar Garden, Ext. – II, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad (UP) with all due anguishment and grief do here by state that very essence of the Financial Institutions / Bank and user of its services is based on the principle of utter trust and faith and bank under the ostensible authority have flouted all norms of equity, fairness and duty as set out herein below:-
1. That my account was opened as a Salary Account in the year of 1997 with Centurion Bank Limited, with the facility of the Zero balance, which got merged and absorbed with HDFC Bank.
2. That in spite of several personal visits starting from 11/05/2009 made to your Nehru Place branch for closing the Bank Account, my account was not closed but was made to run from one desk to other demanding one information or the other than and /or completing one formality than the other.
3. That being duty bound me completed all the formalities for closing the Bank account with the motive that whatever my money is laying will get released at the earliest.
4. That when I was visited the bank on 11th May 2009 for closure of my bank account the ledger showed a Balance of Rs.4925.53 as per bank executive told me but I was shocked and taken a back when the banker’s cheque of Rs.3325.53 bearing Pay Order No.: 065399 dt. 22.10.2009 towards full and final amount was handed over to me.
5. That on enquiring, I was informed that Rs.1600/- has been deducted by the bank on account of charges for not maintaining the minimum balance in the Bank Account.
6. That I had sent several emails to grievance cell and Mr. Sandeep Kholi (Cluster Head) of HDFC bank from 3rd Nov. 2009 to till date but they don’t have authority to reverse the charges and told me to contact the branch once again.
7. The Branch representatives doing misbehavior with me and told this is bank norms and you have to bear all the charges.
8. To start with I would like to submit that when my account was silent no charges was deducted and as soon I approached the Bank for the closure of the bank account, the charges are deducted arbitrary.
9. I would like to ask them that why no charges were deducted on account of not maintaining the quarterly balance in the past and why all of a sudden this decision was taken to deduct the charges on closure of the account.
10. I would like to request you kindly look into this matter and help me.
11. Bank has changed my old account no. with New Account no. without informing me when I was contact for closure of account then they told me the New No. They never informed me about the charges or not given me any information about my account.
