I have decided to close my two and a half year old salary account at hdfc bank ,c-17,anand niketan branch, chanakya puri ( act no-03361140001410) after the apathetic treatment by the staff at the branch. 3 weeks back my debit card got captured in another bank's atm because of some mal function and i had to approach my home branch for a replacement. Even after four visits to the branch in three weeks up to june 29,2010 and filling up of numerous forms they couldnot provide me with an replacement debit card, cheque book or phone banking or net banking pin at the branch. They were not willing to update either my phone number or address even after i provided lease agreement for home as address proof. While Keki Mistry, aditya puri and renu karnad might be very very gungho about the bank's focus on retail banking with irresponsive and apathetic staff at branches the ability of this bank to live up to expectations seems to be very low.
