We are a diamond plus account holder at Mandvi branch CD account number: 003220110000165. Being a partnership firm the account is operated jointly, but as one of the partner (Mr. Kaizar Patla) is residing abroad the first partner has the POA to sign the cheques on his behalf with both the signatures done by the first partner (Mr. Zoher Kagalwala). Cheque amount of Rs.69875.00 dated 2nd Jan. 2012 was issued in favor of M/S. Plastomen Extrusion but inadvertently was signed singly. Despite that the cheque was cleared on the 3rd of Jan 2012 from our account. HOW AND WHY This was informed by the client today on 7th Jan 2012, that the cheque has returned due to one signature and as per the statement it showed that the cheque got cleared on the 3rd of Jan 2012 itself. So immediately it was brought to the attention of the Mandvi branch AGM and also to Mr. P.L Iyer secretary to CMD. I was assured that the matter would be forwarded to the ZM Mr. Somany and would receive a call from his side but to my surprise till date neither Mr. Somany or Mr. P.L Iyer took the courtesy to call me nor the credit was given immediately. Even Mr. V.R. Iyer the Mandvi branch AGM visited my office on the 5th of Jan 2012 with an verbal apology. I have been calling the secretary to CMD , Mr. Somany and Mr. V.R. Iyer but have not received any satisfactory response nor have been able to speak to them as they are not receiving the calls all my exercise proved futile as have received silly excuses from the person who attended the calls. After banking with BOI for so many years this is what I had not expected in return. I think that whatever I said was on deaf ears or they have taken the matter very lightly. First of all why the credit of amount is taking so long???? I demand an explanation and also seek compensation on this subject. Similarly last month a cheque was returned despite holding two signatures issued in favor of VODAFONE for an amount of Rs. 3031.00 with reason as INSUFFICIENT SIGNATURE. I took the matter easily and accepted an apology letter from the Branch AGM which is attached herewith. But this is how BOI serves the customers and that to PREMIUM ones?????? So one can imagine the plight of regular clients/ account holders.

Secondly, we had submitted a letter to Bank of India mandvi branch on 25/04/2011, requesting them to remove the name and the signature to operate the account with all the relevant documents such as retirement deed, POA and the signature card with the two signatures, the third partner had retired but that was also not implemented by the bank and was not upgraded in their records, but was done before 2 days. Upon asking the reason for that they have no answer. Its copy is also attached herewith.

I strictly oppose to such an attitude by top ranking officers of the bank and also the person who in his sleep cleared the cheque with just one signature. This has put me through mental stress and also has spoiled my reputation.
