I am writing this mail with huge sense of dissatisfaction with regard to the policy No. WTG1597873, I took almost three years back with an annual premium of Rs.25,000/-. The dissatisfaction is since the inception of this policy when I realised that the policy terms & conditions informed were not as per policy document. Three years back when I opted for this policy an agent had visited & informed that the minimum tenure of the term is 3 Years & after that the sum can be withdrawn anytime after three years if there is any need. After three years aprox 8-10% will be the charges & after 5 years the amount can be withdrawn without levying any charge. The amount refunded shall be the fund value as on the date of policy surrendered. However after first year when I realised the amount invested has not even a single point of time is more than what I have invested & the terms are not as informed I complained at Aviva's customer care number 18001802266, where it was informed since the minimum lock-in period is 3 years you will have to pay the premium of 2 more years & thereafter you may surrender. On asking the reference number of the compliant was informed that they shall call me & confirm on the same day the Complaint reference number which never happened. Also, I had to do a lot of follow up for the premium receipt not received for filing my I.T Return which may be checked with the number of calls made as follow up.
On June'16, 2010 again when I called the customer care , Firstly was surprised that my premium amount is increased to Rs.26,250/- & on inquiring it was informed that it is optional.
Secondly the official "Raminder" took my complaint at around 5.30 P.M & gave me the same assurance that she would call me to confirm the complaint reference number inspite of my insisting due to my past experience. I was shocked to hear from her that if the policy is surrendered now the amount that I shall receive will be around 33000/- as against my premium amount of Rs.75000/- in total paid so far. The amount of Rs52,000/- (aprox) shall be deducted on account of my early redemption charges. Also, she quoted that the investment is intended till 60 years (Does that mean if money is needed nothing shall be paid back & your organisation will eat away investor entire funds??) & "you must have signed the form after reading all the instructions" ( Does that mean that that investors should not trust the propositions offered by representatives ?? & does that mean that when a complaint is made after realising the response should not be given so that people can be duped of their amount??) After two days Mr.Vikas called & confirmed me the reference number as 2412858 & insisted to continue with the plan without really understanding the gross misrepresentation, fraud & poor service rendered to me. I got a promise that a revert shall be provided to me by 18th June'2010, Monday which as expected never recd till date.
I wish to know what measures are taken for such misselling through the agents & the people who invests in their hard earned money are informed that more than 2/3rd of their money shall be taken by the organisation & quoted as "Early Redemption Charge" . Also, when asked to quit after first year being asked to invest for two ore years so that whatever is invested shall betaken away & people are duped of their money. I need the money that I thought I invested as a good proposition offered by the agents of Aviva on the terms & conditions offered without any further charge to my hard earned money invested & utter dissatisfactory response by your customer care people. I expect a speedy resolution of my greviences without being made to wait for calls or response to come or I shall be constrained to take up the matter with Ombudsman on account of financial loss, gross misrepresentation, failure to meet customer service commitments.
