I went for surrender the policy. The customer care people asking for rubbish formalities such as produce the statement of your last installment paid (2008) to cross check that "YES" you have paid the premium and the banks details are same as you are submitting for surrender proceeds. Moreover submit the last six months statement of my present account in which i want to get my funds.
1. My account was with CBOP that has been closed/merged getting statement not possible.
2. They are providing me cheque number only for reference I dont know is it current or saving account.
3. I am not asking for any loans from them I am just asking for my surrender value of policy.
4. They say If I will not be able to produce these formalities they are unable to pay me back.
My only concern is what is the logic behind asking these formalities.
