I have filed my claim no: 1657574 for the reopening case on 07/06/2010. Till date we have not heard anything from the companies.

I had a claim of Rs. 47544 against which they have sanctioned only 21508. There is a deduction of Rs. 26036 on the ground of Excess Professional charges for eligible category of room rent and nursing charges.

We do not agree to this and have requested them to send bifercation but till date there is no reply from their side. On calling continuously to TPA (Medi Assist), they are just telling that the seanctioned amount is according to policy guideline. but no specific % deduction is mentioned neither on the voucher received from TPA nor on the policy guideline.

On policy guidelines, ONLY they have mentioned that room rent and nursing charges will be 1 % of sum assured but i had confied from another New India whose TPA is TTK Health care at andheri who are deducting the excess roonm rent and nursing charges according to teh norms BUT rest are paid back to the claimnt under the sum assured limt.

Did you find solution to your complaint. I am also being harassed by Medi Assisst India eventhough my case is very strong they are continuously postponing it, coming up with one or the other request of reports which i have already submitted. My claim is close to 1.5 Lacs and even though i am working in one of the top 3 Indian IT companies but the IT Admin is also not helping out. Is there a legal way out to deal with this problem?

If we don't deal with them legally they wont move.

Hi all harrassed customers of Mediassist,
Mediassist is a third party for conusmers and it shortlists the claims raised to New India Assurance.
They only way you can get your full claim amount is lodging a case in consumer court. Your case is strong and mediassist cannot deny
reimbursement on false grounds (unlawful).Mediassist is just trying to pickpocket its customers.
