My mother took Senior Citizen Red Carpet Policy
(Coverage: 2 Lac; P/161119/01/2009/000073) from Star Health. In 2008, when she took policy, she declared that she has Blood Pressure. In March,2010, multiple blocks in her heart was detected and accordingly she underwent open heart surgery. She spent around Rs. 260,000/- in this process. She submitted all the papers to Star Health. Today, I came to know that they have rejected the claim (#8713) and mentioned the reason "patient was symptomatic prior to inception of star policy".

My mother felt cheated now as she paid hefty amount to these people in last 2 years and they rejected the claim when she really need it. It looks like Start health is only interested in collecting the insurance (May be, this is the reason for selling it Cheap)?

What is the legal way to handle this issue ? Can anybody guide me ?

Sir,i have already send my reqeust to the all senior office of star health insurance but they have not heard me and they have rejected my case due to an accident at the age when i was 8 years old and i have not taken any claim but now there was an accident and i am insured but they have not given me


i am insured with STAR HEALTH AND ALIED INSURANCE company for last 2 years under star heath wise policy .I had submitted a claims regarding hospitalization of myself because of an accident at SHAKUNTLA NURSING HOME & HOSPITAL delhi. In 13th june .2011.More than 2 months has elapsed but the same is still pending despite all formality has been completed by me.It is also submitted that myself is is suffering from rare Pain Swalling of Knee and I have to incure heavy expeniture for treatment . I have taken Insurance of my Father under senior citizen red carpet. He was admitted in hospital due to high fever and body ache with low platlates After 3 days his dengue test were declared positive. Star has denied his claim stating that he is Diabetic patient and they have included DENGUE UNDER PRE-EXISTING disease. My claim no. is 0085435. I have send a reconsideration form but they are extremly slow in processing and customer care in Delhi don't have the sense to talk to attendents. I am not getting any response. please look into the matter.

my mother's claim was rejected by star health compnay, after two months time. they are interested in collecting premium only, and not interested in settling the claim. the grievence department is also very poor. totally a fraud company.
