Dear Sir,

I have taken a ULIP Policy from LIC Policy No 436829679 from (Branch BO-578, Uluberia , Narendra Cinema Compound P.O Jadurberia , DIST HOWRAH , West Bengal) on 30.03.2005.

I had went to LIC Office, Uluberia Branch on 02.03.2010 to surrender my Policy due to urgent requirement of funds. I was assured that cheque will be delivered to me within 15 working days, but when I haven’t received the cheque after 30 days of my surrender again I had went to LIC Uluberia Branch for quarries on 13.04.2010 and I was told due to sign mismatch they failed to initiate the surrender, but they haven’t informed me about the same with letter.

In the meantime my Policy was matured whose maturity date was 30.03.2010, which I had informed the concerned person and her name was Rinku, but she asked me to sign once more in the same surrender dispatch voucher and also provided me a receipt for surrender on 13.04.2010.

Again after anxiously waiting for 20 days On 03.05.2010 I had sent a letter to LIC Branch Manager of Uluberia complaining the same through registered post, But I haven’t got any reply So on 19.05.2010 I had visited to Uluberia Branch for quarries, and this time they informed me as the Policy was matured, So I have to submit maturity dispatch voucher, when I had informed her that why she haven’t informed me earlier, with my uttered surprise one of the assistant admin officer replied me that in the country where we are living, two months delay is nothing and If I can’t tolerate this then I am not fit to live in this country. I had never expected these words from a LIC official.

As we invest in LIC because it’s a government concern, But I am afraid, the service they are providing is horrible and in future it is bound to hurt their business, Any way on 24.05.2010, I had submitted Maturity dispatch Voucher to Uluberia LIC branch yet to get a cheque. I am a retired person, Now my claim is to get the maturity amount as early as possible with interest.
