i took a classic assure plan from HDFC standard life classic assure plan on 3rd October 2011. The policy number is 14657622. i was expected to recieve the documents within a week but due to irresponsible staff of HDFC i recieved it after 30-40 days and that too with incorrect information, i was assured that information would be coorected with a day but even after two weeks nothing happened. The promises which were made while purchasing the policy were not mentioned in the documents.
On 16th december when i cancelled the policy and surrendered all the documents back to a HDFC Life branch and was assured to recieve the money with 8 working days. but it has been more than a month since the officials are fooling me.i tried calling the customer care many times but they said that i would recieve a cheque within 14 days from date of cancelation. They always said the same points and just said that it has got delayed due to unforseen reasons. and on one fine day i recieved a letter that my comlaint is closed because the staff could not contact me and now policy is not cancelled and i would not recieve my money back. even the grieviance department is not listening to my complaints. i do not have any other alternative except knocking the doors of the consumer court. Please help me in this regard.
