Dear Sir/Madam
I took a policy fro Kotak Life Insurance in August 2011 on the basis of details given by the Sales department Shikha Verma.
I got call from Shikha Verma on 28 July at 11 am ,she told me in some cities only few customer are chosen for this policy on the their previous track records of their existing policy.On telephonic conversation with her i was told that this policy is given to very few
customer and this is not available to all and same cannot be purchased from Kotak Insurance directly as this given only those customer who are getting this call.
Below mentioned are few commitments which were given to me
1)She told me that by investing Rs 30000/Pa for 5 year i will be
getting some around 238000 and if will take it for 12 years i will get
750000. which they will give in written statement on stamp paper.
2)She told me that i will also be getting one health card for Rs
100000/per year for me and my dependents which can be used for getting
treatment across country with listed hospitals
3)She told me that from 1st premium agents commission of Rs 6000 +also
another commission of 1500 (total of 7500) within three months as this
policy is directly given to me and does not involve any agent and
policy is given directly from their HO office in Saket.
4)She also told me that i will be getting some pension of Rs 2500/PM
till the policy is continued from next six from that date start of the
the policy ,this was most appealing point that's why i took this
policy.
After giving all this commitments she told me that a recorded CD will
be provided to me for all the conversation with me ( altogether 3 DC
for every discussion) and they are not making any false promises and
commitments.First i refused and told me let me check through my friends
and then let you ,she told me that this policy is not available in
market and even kotak insurance employees are not aware of this but
then also i told her to call be back in evening.
I asked few of my friends and told me they have not heard of this
policy which is giving so much benefit,Also enquired about the same
from my LIC agent he told private companies gives mislead information
and later they refuse, so he warned me to take full clarification and
then only go for it.
In evening i got call from Shika Verma again and i told her that i
cannot trust on you as there is no such policy in the market,she again
told me she not making any false commitments and a recorded CD will be
provided for conversation again told about all the benefits.then she
told that today is the last day to take this policy else i will be not
getting any benefit i do not take this policy today.
Finally i agreed and she asked to me give cheque for Rs 30000 and ID
and Add proof, i told that iam not carrying my cheque book today then
she told that she is entering my name is their system and cheque will
be collected tomorrow from me and i will also be getting call from
Operation dept from Kotak insurance for the policy.
Next day when i was on my way to office i got call from Kotak Life a
guy named Deepak called me up and took confirmation for the policy,i
confirmed to him and told me to call be back after 10.30 as i was
travelling.he again called me up around 10.40 then i asked him about
the above mentioned commitments made to me,he also told me to this
policy is provided to very few customers and all the information's are
true.
Same day around 11.10am A executive called me up and took add
confirmation and told me he was coming to collect cheque and
documents.At 11.30 he came and collected the cheque and copy of PAN
card and Electric Bill as ID & add proof from my office situated at
Okhla Phase 1.(Cheque no 639449 from ICICI bank was gven to him and
account was debited on 2nd August)
Same day Shika verma again called me up a took confirmation whether i
have given the cheque or not . i confirmed her for the cheque and asked
her when i will be given my policy documents,she told me that within 15
days i will get the same as ii will be dispatched from Mumbai. Then she
also told me that when i will received my policy docs then again to
call her as the policy which i will be receiving is duplicate copy
which i need to send it to her on thier Naraina Office in Delhi from
where they will send original policy,as this is the instruction from
their MD as few policy were lost in transit so their company is
following up this practice , I told iam first time hearing this thing
never heard of this in any companies.she told me that not to worry i
will be getting my policy with all commitments made.
Mean while i got Message from Kotak Insurance 4th of August (Dear
Customer ,we take great pleasure in welcoming you to Kotak Life
Insurance family ,Your application has been processed.Your policy no is
2342981)
After non receipt of policy on 15th day i again called her and asked
she told policy is already dispatched from Mumbai wait for 2-3 days
more .after 3 days i again called her then some another lady answered
and told she was in meeting and she will tell her to call me back. She
called me up after sometime told me she doesn't know why policy docs
are not received till now as she can see in system that it is
dispatched from Mumbai. May be some problem with courier agency will
check and confirm.
Same day i checked Kotak Life website and found their TollFree
18002098800 numbers on the site and i called them and asked about the
policy and provided the policy no received through SMS. She told same
is RTO and lying with Courier Agency as add provided is incorrect.i
asked the POD no and Courier agency name.
I then called up Courier Agency (Pigeon Courier) and provided them POD
no and asked for he documents they told to tell add again ,i confirmed
them my add and they told it will be delivered in next days.Also
informed the same to Shika Verma.
On 19 August i received my policy documents,when i opened it to my
surprise there were nothing mentioned about the above mentioned policy
benefits and even the xerox copy attached in the policy docs were
signed and my signatures were also put on all the xerox application
forms attached in it which i have not signed.Same day i called her then
again some another lady answered and told she was in meeting and she
will tell her to call me back ,this happened for next 2-3 days..
Then i again called up Kotak Insurance Tollfree Nos mentioned on thier
website quoting my policy no received through SMS and asked customer
care about the policy details,She told that this the final policy
document i wont be getting any thing else as commitment made by Shika
and Deepak. I also enquired about the benefit which was told to me by
them she refused for all of them and she also told me if you not
satisfied then you get policy cancelled as their is freelook period of
15 days from date of receipt of policy doc.
Then i guessed something is wrong and i called Deepak from Opt of Kotak
Insurance and told him, he told that he is not well today and will call
tomorrow i told him that i have received the policy docs and there is
nothing mentioned about the benefits which and Shika Verma has
mentioned.He told me wait for tomorrow ,he will check and confirm. I
told him i have discussed the matter from their Mumbai office and they
have told me no such policy exist iam getting the policy cancelled.
After few minutes after discussion with Deepak, Shika Verma called me
up and i shouted on her and told her that you all have done a fraud so will
complain to IRDA about this and will get the policy cancelled.She told
me as told earlier this is duplicate policy and not worry and send it
back to us on our saket add. i told that then free look period will be
gone i will loose my money and wont get any thing,she told not to worry
and send the policy back to us and not discuss any thingh about the
policy with any body even to customer care dept (this conversation i
recorded on my cell phone same is attached with the mail)
I trusted her and sended back to policy on the Address to Mr Vishal
Agnihotri as provided by her.After few days i got back my policy which
i had couriered her as non receipt no person available on the add and
no company found.
Then i again called her but some another lady answered and told she
was in meeting and she will tell her to call me back ,this happened for
next 2-3 days
I kept on Calling and once shouted on that lady and told i want to
talk to Shika Verma but every time she told me that she is meeting.
After 5 days on 28th August i again called her and i was told she was
leave and her Superior will talk to me and discuss with me about my
problem.
A guy name Harsh Mehta talked to me and listened to me problem and
told he is manager in Kotak Insurance will listen to the recorded CD
and about the plan and benefits told to me and will let me know after
two days back.I told him for for 10 days iam going out of Delhi,he told
no problem he will call me on cell and provided his contact no also.
I didn't received any call from him till date,Now iam calling all
these people from last 4-5 days but all the nos are switch off or they
not answering the call(all names and nos mentioned below)
Plz look into this case,i have also complain to IRDA regarding this.
