I was having ICICI lombard motor insurance policy since the day I purchased Chevrolet UVA ( say 2 years. Unfortunately this year I met with an accident on the very first day of Period Of Insurance i.e.2nd Jun,2010, date of issuance 4th Jun,2010 ( as it happens in most of the policies). Now when we took our car to showroom the technicians said the surveyer would be available after 2-3 days as he is not available .Unfortunately we told one more thing that ICICI has no CASH LESS policies now which was not told by agent at the time of taking cheque.
On good faith we left the car in showroom and signed one formality paper mentioning the date 2nd jun,2010.
On 7th Jun when we go to showroom ,the technician there filled our papers and said that he will fill the remaining papers and he mention the date of accident 6th Jun,2010 which he said as normal. After few days, we paid the bill amounting Rs.65,000/- for the work done. We were told that our claim will be settled in few days. After few days we got the letter from ICICI Lombard that or claim can not be settled due to misrepresentation of facts : i.e. DATE OF ACCIDENT IS BEFORE THE MENTIONED DATE,DATE OF LOSS CLAIMED 6TH JUN,2010 AND VEHICLE WAS REPORTED TO GARAGE ON 2ND JUN,2010.
When we talked to showroom technicians they simply said that some inspector has done this and now nothing could be done.
Now ,pleases suggest what could be done as this is clearly an intention of deceiving consumers in good faith. I think Chevrolet showroom and ICICI Lombard are both cheated us.
