I am an ICICI Lombard Customer for the last 3 years. I have been regularly renewing my policy before time. Thanks to ICICI Lombard for also religiously following up and reminding me well before time to renew my policy. Also in the first 2 years I have not taken any claim.
Last year from the period of Sept 2009, my daughter was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma) and had to undergo a very painful treatment for the same. During the course of treatment, ICICI Lombard did clear all my settlements and I appreciate and thank them for doing so. Finally after fighting a difficult battle my daughter passed away in Nov 2009.
My ICICI Lombard Family Floater Policy was due for renewal on 2nd May 2010. When I called up ICICI Lombard they refused renewal of Mediclaim Policy. In spite of trying to renew Online, or through Toll free Number and continuously follow up with helpline folks... I was told renewal will not be possible. I will have to buy a NEW POLICY.: . isn’t it really absurd?????
My question to ICICI Lombard team:
1) Just because I had claimed last year, does that mean I am ineligible for renewal?
2) I had agreed to pay the loading charges and also increase in premium but still no one is interested in renewing. If I have to buy a NEW Policy, why should I not go to another company? And why should I not get a renewal?
3) So what happens to my relationship with ICICI Lombard which I have been having since last 3 years, does that go away... just because... I had claimed. Tell me why we citizens take mediclaim policies....so that we can avail of the benefit when needed. Isnt it??
Finally, I had no choice but to write my request here. Hope someone will answer.
