I have taken a insurance on my car with Reliance General Insurance. There was a damage to my car and I had to send my car to the garage. I raised a claim on the phone and got a claim number. The Reliance surveyor came to survey the damage and approved the repairs after which the garage did the repair works. The car has been ready for 2-3 days but the garage cannot give me the car since Reliance has not yet processed the insurance claim. The people at the garage say that the reliance representative who processes the final stages of the claim is not available. They have prepared all the relevant documents and waiting for Reliance to process. I called the reliance customer care and they told me that they are waiting for the documents from my side. I told them that I have submitted the documents at the garage and their representative has failed to pick it up from there. The people at the garage are trying to call the reliance guy who collects and processes claim related paper work but he doesn't pick up their phone. This has resulted in a backlog of pending claims at that garage that Reliance has to process including mine. I have raised a complaint with reliance about the particular representative but I am not sure if that is just a useless formality. This is causing great inconvenience for me as I cannot take my car from the garage until the claim gets processed by reliance. It has been seven working days since I have submitted my car and paperwork and there has not been any movement on this whole thing. Reliance claims it needs seven "working" days after they receive the documents to fully process the claim.its already seven days and they need more seven days. this has been the most pathetic experience for me.
