Sir,
In an unfortunate instance my car met with a bad accident more than a month back. I am holding Tata AIG insurance policy for more than an year and renewed for this year as well. as explained to me by the surveyor and the dealer, my car repair cost is exceeding the value of the car and hence it is a case of CASH LOSS and not a TOTAL LOSS. The surveyor has been kind to explain us the process, that the company *will offer a certain amount towards my policy and rest depends on the third party (scrap dealer) to buy the car on "as is basis". However as informed, selling the car to a third party/scrap dealer is my responsibility. I am shocked and equally disappointed as it is not possible for me or any other customer in position to sell a broken car directly to a scrap dealer. How am I suppose to know any such dealer? or how can I find about such dealers? It has to be your company's responsibility to sell the car, as it happens with all the insurance policies.
I am in a job and i am a doctor, being a responsible professional my prime responsibility is to save the lives and look after the *patients. Its been almost a month and my car is just parked in the GM bodyshop and nothing is moving in my case. I am bearing so much of loss already, the car is barely just a year old and i have no other vehicle to drive, it is mentally so taxing handling this situation. I am going through so much of stress, as i need to even decide about my next car.
Kindly suggest me what to do in my case, and my main concern being who is responsible to sell the car.
Thanks in advance,
Dr T Changsan
