To, M/s.Alegion Insurance (044-32475943, 9789982267)

The reasons for rejection of my claim and my arguments are mentioned below:

1. Reason No.1 for rejection: 2 versions of loss mentioned by Police and CSR made 5 days after occurrence of theft
Argument: The 2 versions of loss was mentioned by Police only and not by me. The entire CSR form is in Tamil and I can’t read Tamil. After you had pointed out, I had got the revised CSR issued from Police. It was the negligence of Police personnel that they made the CSR without seeing my complaint. Also, I am told, the police complaint is sent to the commissioner’s office and then only the CSR is issued which took 5 days. Pls let me know for the mistake made by Police personnel and for the procedural time taken by Police, how am I responsible?
2. Reason No.2 for rejection: Mobile owner left the phone at the restaurant and went away.
Argument: The letter given to police was in brief. As per the detailed letter handed over to you, while I left the mobile on table and went out to pick something from my car, my family was still sitting at the table and having food till I came back to the table. I am sure that this is not negligence, hence I wish to express my disagreement with the basis of your rejection.
3. Reason No.3 for rejection: Owner of the mobile is Mr.Gopalakrishnan and documents are signed by somebody
Argument: Yes, I am the owner of the mobile and the claim form & letter was filled by me only. Only the covering letter was filled by my wife, Ms.Amitha Nayak, because you had insisted that the reason for loss be explained in detailed and she submitted the documents in person. If that was not acceptable by you, you should have not have accepted the claim. Moreover, she has written in the letter that she is signing on behalf of me.

I find all the arguments given by M/s.Oriental Insurance as baseless. They are conveniently choosing to avoid getting into the details of the actual theft and interpreting the documents the way it is suitable for themselves.
