Angry Absuive language from ABNO AMRO BANK Employee

I would like to inform you that, i was using ABN AMRO Credit Card # 0005415382400696522 during the period 2006-8, I was regularly pay the billed amount, but when I noticed that there were some unnecessary charges in the bill, I asked the bank for settlement in July 2008, I paid total Rs. 11900/- after that i did not get any call from bank. But yesterday on march 24, 2010, after 1 year 8 month i got a call form Mr. Vikas Shetty from number # 022-42252631 & 09920561086, he said he is calling from Abn amro bank and he started used very abusive language, and ask me to pay the amount of Rs. 17000/- and said if I’ll not pay the said amount he will take some violent action against me.

This is kind of threatening call and I am bound to take some legal action Mr. Vikas Shetty also.

Expecting some genuine and legal action against Mr. Vikas Shetty.

    Faithfully yours,

Angry cheating of customers - ABN AMRO BANK

My husband was using ABN AMRO credit card. One day we thought to close the credit card and approached the bank in Nungambakkam chennai office. There we paid Rs.11,694.33 dated 6th Sep 2008, receipt was given by Mr. Dheeraj , Emp Code: 11596 credit service manager, who broke the card into pieces and packaged in the cover and kept with him. Then we asked for closure letter, he informed that the post the reaches the customer care, they will send you the closure letter to your mailing address. We receive often calls from the bank, asking to pay the amount. Later we made a complaint to the customer care service giving the Manager's name, date of final payment, emp code etc, documents enclosed - closure of credit card . No action has been taken from the bank. Then today( 27/03/2010), we received call from the bank asking to pay the amount. They are torching like anything ........... i just want to know where the amount paid has gone........it has not been updated in their records.........now they saying that you have not asked for the closure letter...........what is the purpose of giving the receipt, bank challan etc..............this is fake one to cheat the customer..............

Please help us to sort the issue at the earliest

Its our kind advice not to approach any ABN amro bank for any service.......approach only nationalised banks ............

    Thanks

it appears that you have gone for the settlement of your card and where you might have claimed for interest waiver. In such cases you need to ask for the complete statement along with the settlement letter from the bank at the time of payment. One morething you have to insist for word "full and final settlement of the account" in that offer letter. It seems that particular executive has not informed you about this or he has'nt received waiver approval from his bossses. Until and unless you have any document proof from the bank which proves that there was an understanding between you and banker with regard to the closure of card...

    Pls re-check docs once again.

No banker has right to insult or threaten the customer if he did so, you can file a complaint against such officer for using abusive language and threatening with dire consequences and it will come under crim**** case only. Simultaneously u can complaint the concerned bank officer's higher authority for violation of banking rules as specified by RBi.

    Dear Mr. Anand,
This is with reference to your email dated December 23, 2010.

We understand the stated concerns and we would like to share with you that in case payments are not received within the payment due date, the late payment and financial charges shall continue to be levied on your credit card account as a normal process.

As per your statement dated 03/09/2008, the outstanding balance was Rs 14,090.20 and the minimum due was Rs 3,919.69 which was to be paid on immediate basis. However, we received the payment for Rs 11,694.00 only against the outstanding. Since, the complete payment was not received, hence the card closure was not processed.

We are also not in receipt of any other communication from your side regarding the card closure in the subsequent months.

Since the subsequent payments have not satisfied the total amount due this has further lead to the levy of the late payment fee.

We will like to inform you that the current outstanding on the card account is Rs. 14,681.51.

We request you to make the payment for the above mentioned amount to zeroise the outstanding of the card account and to avoid collection reminders on the same.

You may also quote the reference number 00251998581, in case you need any further clarification on the above resolution.

Please feel free to write back to us for any further clarifications in this regard or call our 24-hour Bank by Phone service in your city and our executive will be glad to assist you.

Assuring you of our best services.

    Yours sincerely,
