Dear sir/madam
I am holding a citi bank credit card since 2006 last month bank has done mistake, even though i had deposited the payment cheque well in advance before the due date and mentioning the card number correctly they didn't send the cheque for clearing to my savings account bank instead they charged late payment fee interest charge and not only that they also computed adverse effect my rating with CIBIL (credit bureau) for non payment of credit card, after that i did the online payment immediately after hearing this. i called the customer care and asked for my cheque at first they told me that they didn't received the cheque at my fourth call they told me that i have mentioned the card number wrongly so it has discrepancy i requested to send back the cheque, after receiving the cheque i found everything is correct and bank has done mistake. i send a email to grievance cell as mentioned below they called over phone and apologies for the things happened and also came for compensation.
please guide me what shall i ask them as compensation, due to their mistake i got depressed and spent much time in calling customer care also.

" With ref to your letter dated 04-02-2011stating that the cheque issued against payment for the card no xxxxxxxxxxxxx which has discrepancy and heard that the cheque is mentioned with a wrong card number so i requested the customer care executive to send back the cheque, and received the same today, i found that the card number mentioned by me is correct and the cheque has been deposited well in advance on 5th of jan 2012 a seal acknowledging 7th of jan 2012 is at the back of the cheque, please tell where i am wrong, for this promptness and being a non default citibank customer from 2006, i have been rewarded with late payment fee-700, service tax- 214.75 and interest charge-1385 and mail stating "We wish to inform you that due to non-payment of your Credit Card dues may have an adverse effect on your credit rating as computed by the Credit Bureau (CIBIL)." as if i have not made the payment, is this is way citibank serve its customers because of this issue i have been mentally disturbed and worried, also lost most of the time in calling customer care. It initiate me to go for an appeal against citibank with RBI.

a) herewith i have attached a scanned copy of my 1.card, 2.cheque front, 3. cheque back side, 4. letter copy.
b) previous payment of rs 3142 through axis bank cheque no 565838 to the same card how does this honored and got credited into citibank account."
