I am a HSBC Credit Card holder and I am usually receiving physical credit card statement every month. I had received HSBC statement in april-09 along with VALUEMART shopping catalog (Catalog have both HSBC and VALUEMART logos, it means VALUEMART is associated HSBC). Then I had found one interesting offer to buy one digital camera with attractive price Rs. 7,500/-.
I had ordered through PHONE as on 02-May-2009 and they had taken my order and I have to pay the bill worth of Rs. 7900/- (including courier charges) to HSBC. I thought, I can convert this payment to EMI later on in order to pay the bill.
According to the commitment given by VALUEMART, the product supposes to reach with in 20 days. But I haven’t received yet.
HSBC credit customer care executives keep calling me from May-2009 onwards and keep asking me to pay the due. I am always trying to convey them by saying I am not going to pay this due amount haven’t receive the product yet since VALUEMART is failed to deliver the product.
Later, HSBC had sent few guys (third party) who collect the bad debts. I explained the situation and they understood and told me to meet HSBC manager. I met with HSBC Manager (KD Road, Mysore) and sorted out the issue. Then HSBC credit card customer care executives stop calling me. But still I am receiving HSBC credit card statement online for the same transaction.
Now, I had received a Legal notice form Advocate and Tax consultant who represent HSBC.
Please advise me, how to proceed?
