Dear Sir,

When I was travelling in the bus from Inorbitmall to Ekta Nagar ( Kandivali(W) in Mumbai my purse was stolen around 22.15 hrs on 21st October 2011 in which I had my SCB Credit card. After getting down from the bus i took an auto home. I realised my purse was stolen only when i was about to pay the auto. within 5 mts after reaching home i got the first sms saying that a transaction of 14,440 has been done. please contact the bank if you have not done. As I gathered all the details and contacted the customer care no to hotlist the card, the second sms came that a 2nd transaction for rs 22,675 had been done please contact the bank if you have not done. The first transaction was done at 22.34 and the second at 22.54.

The card was hotlisted at 22.57. After giving all the details to the bank about the fraud transaction, I filed a FIR at the police station on 22nd Oct 2011. In the mean time a dispute form was sent to me by them on the 27th oct 2011 for which I sent the filled form to them thru my rediffmail id which was not my registered ID with them. I received an acknowledgemt from SCB for this. But till 14th Nov 2011 I kept receiving SMS's saying that the dispute form was not recd by them and they cannot proceed in the matter. After speaking to customer care numerous times, I reforwared the filled form along with FIR on 14th Nov 2011. Even when the investigation was not finished ( they said it will take 45 days) I have recd. sms saying as per them card was with me till it was hot listed and i was liable to pay. I have sent mail to them saying that i need the full detailed investigation detailed by them including the copy of the charge slip to see whether the merchant tallied the signature when honoring the transaction.

Ultimately yesterday I have received an email saying that they have fininshed the investigation and they are sending me the details including the charge slips and I am liable to pay soon or I will be debited with financial charges.

How can they say that they completed the transaction and the transactions are valid & I am liable. When they must have verified the signatures, and one of the transactions happened in a Jwellary store where they must have CCTV's installed. The Bank's investigation dept. has not contacted me personally for any details of the transactions except one call on the 23rd of Oct 2011.

Please guide as this a purely fraudulant transaction and the bank has been absolutely unco-oparative in the matter in all respects to the interests of the customer.

First transaction took place in a Wine Shop and the second in a Jwellary Store.
