I did shopping of Rs. 2500/- on 22/01/2012. The Merchant swiped my HDFC credit card but he said that the request is not getting processed so I paid my bill using my Debit Card. But after few minutes I got the message that Rs.2500/- is decuted from my credit card also. Merchant told me that he'll void the transaction and amount wil be reverted back to my account but when I inquired today after not getting my amount back till today(28/01/2012) the credit card division of HDFC told me that the amount is claimed by the Merchant. I want to know that how can merchant claim the amount without the purchase slip with my signature on it? Now I want to file a case in consumer court. Can someone please suggest me whether I need to file the complaint against HDFC credit card division or against the Merchant. I have all the proper proofs i.e. The purchase receipt from the shop, the receipt of the debit card through which I paid the bill and the credit card statement in which it is mentioned the amount is deducuted from my credit card in the same shop.

Please help me in this regard.
