    Default Credit card cancellation - 4346*********27

    Hello,

    I have recently (Jan 2011) started a salary account with HDFC. When the account was opened i opted for not having a credit card. Later i got a call from one HDFC person asking whether i require credit card. I asked whether its a free card or there is an annual fee associated with it. SHe said there is no annual fee and they proceeded with the formalities of issuing the credit cat card. Before they issued, they called me again and read the terms again whioch had the mention of annual fee. So i told them when you initially talked you said there was no annual fee.. Hence i do not want the card..Please cancel it.. But inspite of that the card was delivered to my office.

    I have not used this card and i need to cancel the same. Today when i called customer care for the same, they said i can send a mail to the credit card office and there will me an annual membership fee even for cancellation.. I would like to know for what reason i should pay the annual membership fee.. and why was the processing done (Jan - 25 -2011) inspite of me asking them to cancel it?

    Please provide me with your HDFC, Rajouri Branch Direct numbers.
    Preferably, the Branch Manager...
    would like to talk and raise the issue of Customer harassment, who has
    given the right to your employees for abusing and misbehaving with the
    customers.

    I was shocked when I visited the link below, everyone has faced the
    same problem with the bank... and It is only HDFC.
    If your employees are not aware, that Harassment is a Punishable
    offence, and if everyone lodges a complaint against this, your bank
    would be asked to pay heavy compensation.

    iii) Fair Practices in debt collection

    (a) In the matter of recovery of dues, banks / NBFCs may ensure that
    they, as also their agents, adhere to the extant instructions on Fair
    Practice Code for lenders (circular DBOD. Leg. No. BC. 104 /09.07.007
    / 2002–03 dated May 5, 2003) as also IBA’s Code for Collection of dues
    and repossession of security. In case banks / NBFCs have their own
    code for collection of dues it should, at the minimum, incorporate all
    the terms of IBA's Code.

    (b) In particular, in regard to appointment of third party agencies
    for debt collection, it is essential that such agents refrain from
    action that could damage the integrity and reputation of the bank /
    NBFC and that they observe strict customer confidentiality. All
    letters issued by recovery agents must contain the name and address of
    a responsible senior officer of the card issuing bank whom the
    customer can contact at his location.

    (c) Banks / NBFCs / their agents should not resort to intimidation or
    harassment of any kind, either verbal or physical, against any person
    in their debt collection efforts, including acts intended to humiliate
    publicly or intrude the privacy of the credit card holders’ family
    members, referees and friends, making threatening and anonymous calls
    or making false and misleading representations.




    Please do not give any request number or anything..... Strict action
    would be appreciated.

    Friends, who are facing same problem, everyone together needs to take a strict action.

    I have HDFC credit card No 4346 7710 0104 7258.i want to terminate this card facility so kindly settled the outstanding amount and sent my address please.on this day the outstanding amount id Rs.22195.00 and i have deposited Rs.3360.00 now i do not do any transaction on this card simultaneously not able to deposite such amount.it is become panic to sustain with me. Kindly send the settled outstanding amount of this card.after payment you please terminate this card facility.

    To whomever it may concern:

    I have been pushed to the edge by your credit card department and hence was forced to type in this feedback.
    I have been applying for a credit card for the past 4 months since I opened a salary account with HDFC. Your representative at my office asked me to fill up the form and said I should get a card within 30 days. Its been 4 months since and I keep getting pushed around saying that my application has been disapproved. I would like to bring it to your notice that in the past 4 months I have submitted the required documents 4 times. 1st was at the point when I opened my account then the next time was when it got declined and a rep was sent to my address then after that I myself walked into a local branch and submitted the documents twice.

    Earlier atleast people bothered to call me and inform that my application has been declined for some reason but in the past 1 month the status on your website hasnt even changed though I have submitted the documents twice. After about 30-40 calls to your call center all I have realized is that I will only be pushed around. The reason that you give is that my business address and residential address havnt been confirmed though I am at office 6 days a week and have a salary account from the same organization/address. Earlier 2 people actually came to my residence to verify the address but that was back in May. Since then no one has actually bothered to even look into my application though I have taken the pain of going to your branch and submitting the documents twice.

    The worst part is your call center where all people say is you have been disapproved and nothing more that could help. On asking to speak to a manager people either disconnect the call or refuse to transfer the call to the supervisor. After being a customer with HDFC for the pas 8 years if this is the kind of service I get then I am sorry to say that I would have to stop banking with you. The last option left before me would be to close all my FD's and bank accounts with HDFC after recieving such pathetic customer service. I also have my own business account with HDFC which I am planning to close as well if nothing is done about my concern regarding the credit card. Hoping for the best

    Angry Credit Limit Issue

    To Whom So Ever it may concern.

    Hi , Myself Monika Multani and I recently received a Credit card of HDFC bank.

    I have applied for a Platinum card and got the same but the only issue is credit limit.

    Your phone banking sales executive while pitching me in for sale promised me that I will get a very good credit limit ( I hold a citibank Titanium card from 2 years with a Limit of 1Lac 80 Thousand ) and you will atleast get the double of what you already have but unfortunately all those sales pitch seems to have faded away when i got the card with a Limit of merely 1.30 lacs.

    I work in a Cat A compnay ( Amazon Development Centre India Pvt Ltd , Hyd ) and my package is 6.5 Lacs / annum...

    I'm in no mood to use your card because i feel cheated.

    Kindly tell me how to go forward

    This is in concern with the Credit card i am holding "ICICI credit card". However i have been tourched with
    the Recovery agent wich is working with ICICI bank Bank in In mumbai, as well as with the misbahaviour with My family persion without intimate me I have card holded with this bank for the last 4 years. Its really shoody to say that its of no use holding this card with this bank. However i have an account with the same bank for the last 7 years.

    Please take necessary action with this bank and there employee..........

    Default Call from hdfc bank colletion department and misbehaving with the customer

    My name is gaffar and my card number is 4346781009802307 and past 1 year i am using HDFC credit card and still i haven't receive any statement and i was complined no.of to customer care and bank and collection deptment, still i didn't receive any status, and most importnat thing is idiots guys(Name Areefa) from collection, chennai, she don't know how speak with customers over the call and still we r supprising how the bank this kind of irresponsibility workers hires in the bank, before if I take it any action personally, requesting to higher autoroities look into the issue and take it as high priority. other wise Now I have two options either I escalate to MD level or highlight to media about inefficiency of Bank customer support. and main this is customer is not imagine how much amount need to pay everymonth, so u peopel just need to inform or send the statement.

    Most important thing is that lady AREEFA from chennai number 04466458650, got the cal from this number and she need to explain, about her misbehaviour towrds the customer, and i am taking this as serious and fire her from her job, otherwise bank name will spoil in future

    Default Complaint Against HDFC Bank Card Services

    Hi,

    Please treat this email as a formal notice from me and the penultimate step before going to the court of law against HDFC Bank for mal-practices in the Collection of Credit Card Dues

    I understand you must have received lacs of complaints from your customers regarding pesky collection calls. This email also may just go completely ignored by the authorities considering the fact that there is a flaw in our collection system as on date.

    Still, I am writing to you today to COMPLAIN against one of your pesky , unruly and insensitive collection agent Vaishnav (9013203477)

    I have a Titanium International Credit Card # 5289 4550 0328 2677 with HDFC on my name. This is a new card and is yet to complete 1 year. Now owing to some really bad reasons, I haven't been paid completely since June this year and have for obvious reasons faced a lot of difficulties in keeping up with my expenses. It is quite obvious that this problem has shadowed my credit card as well. At present I guess I owe the bank an amount of around 75K and a minimum due of around 5k.

    If you see my account, then you will notice that despite these issues, I have tried to make whatever payments I could and live up to the dates - which is a clear indication that I am not trying to run away with this money and have the intent to make the complete payments regularly (including the over limit, finance and late fees). I have been in touch with this above mentioned agent since the beginning of this month and I have been telling him that I have a financial issue up my sleaves and due to the festive season ahead, this month it will be a little tough to organize any payment, however I will still try.

    Since then, this person kept calling me regularly and asking for money and I kept telling him that I have not been paid and it will be tough, however I am trying. Once when I did not pick up his call (Because he was calling me repeatedly and I was in my office) this person called up my wife and spoke very rudely to her, which was completely uncalled for and I guess to the best of my knowledge, not as per the laws also, especially for a card in this delinquency stage - when the customer is in touch with the agent, but did not pick up the calls because of his repeated attempts to call up despite of telling him that it is tough to make the payment.

    Today when I spoke to him this morning, I told him that I could not arrange the funds and will be able to make the payment only by 1st November 2011, when I get paid. In response this is what he has to say:

    - Sumit ji, you are a liar and if you did not want to make the payment then you should have told me in the beginning only
    - I am sending your card account to recovery and they will call your wife for money and send people at your place to collect everything you owe the bank
    - The bank will not be responsible for anything that happens to you after this (I have taken serious offence to this)
    - Sumit ji because of the fact that you are not making the payment of 2k, I am going to get a warning letter from my bank for holding your account for these many days (18 odd days, since the time we are in touch with each other)
    - He also said that he does not care if I complain, because if he is already getting one warning letter, then what difference will another letter make
    - He bluntly said, that if I cannot even arrange 2k, then what in the world can I do (when I told him that i will complain)

    I told him that I will be able to make the payment of 5k on 1st November 2011 before noon - but this person humiliated me like anything, completely expected, but unsolicited behavior!!!

    I want to understand, that if I was even ready to share my salary account statement to prove that I have not even been paid completely in the last many months and now that I have changed my job, I am sure I will be paid on 31st of this month still does any law give him the right to humiliate me like this? To threaten me that he knows my wife's number and he wont be responsible for anything that happens from here on?

    I am sure of making the payment on 1st and considering this collection stuff, I will try and get rid of your card at the earliest possible day in my life. I am genuinely surrounded by financial problems and still I have been humiliated like this! If anything happens to me, my family or our health because of this, then only and only HDFC Bank will be responsible for this. Any loss to my health, mental state or anything else for that matter will be only HDFC Bank's responsibility!

    I am sharing this email on other forums as well to enlighten people about HDFC's such practices. I am highly disappointed!!!

    Angry HDFC Credit Card Harrasment

    This is in concern with the Credit card i am holding from "HDFC Bank". However i have been tourched with the employees working with HDFC Bank Collection agents in Chennai Branch, The collection department from Chennai branch has been regularly calling my cell phone and harassing me every time for the making payment. They are extremely rude and abusive. I visited HDFC Bank Nov.2008,I was sitting there four to five hours, But there was no response with HDFC Staffs’ I visited HDFC bank for the settle of the amount. I went to HDFC bank reception ,your staff are not giving any response so I told receptionist I left the bank. My HDFC Credit card having a limit of Rs.20000/- now they are asking me to do the settle the amount of Rs.60000/-
    Last one week onwards Mr.NiyanaMoorhty has been calling me and telling me that M calling from High court regarding the Hdfc bank credit card and he is telling me that he is going to file FIR and arrest warrant and he has being continuously calling me and my office due to that am having a big problem In my job.
    Because of this call My company has been removed me from my job.
    HDFC Bank Collection People has been calling me for the settlement of Rs.21000/-and I have agreed to pay the amount but I have asked for some time for the credit card payment,and Ninamoorthy promised me to give Settlement and NOC .But the HDFC bank collection people are telling that they will give only settlement report but no NOC. But Still they are calling and harassing me .
    I am ready to settle the amount but the collection people are continuously calling and tourcharing me, you have to pay the amount immediately. Can the bank will negotiate with the amount and with some time or can I go thru legal advisor for settling the amount.

    Default regarding unlawful interest, late payment charges

    Dear Sir, I am Pankaj Kumar, Having HDFC Credit Card No.4050285000549806 and the payment of just Rs.3000/- was due and the same was made just after 2/3 days of due date and the payment was late due to loss of ATM Card, but for that late payment, about Rs.1000/- has been debited in my statement, which is uncalled for, illegal and unlawful. So you are kindly requested to look into the matter, otherwise, I will have no other option but to discontinue the services of the Bank and to close my account also.

    two month before .i applied for the credit card. But till now there is no response from the bank. Whether application is not approved. Bank should notify the reason of rejection.

    Default HDFC Credit Card : Forcefully claiming a huge outstanding

    While having a long and fair relation with HDFC bank I had never expected of what all is happening with me these days. I possess a HDFC Saving + Current Account, have taken a home loan and am using its credit card (4346 xxxx xxxx 5679) since year 2009. Apart from few very rare exceptions, I don’t remember if any I had missed to make the payment on or before due date (acknowledging the fact that I use my credit cards a lot). Far past few months I am getting some calls on my cell phone (9818152475) asking for the payment of some outstanding amount of more than 50 thousands. Surprisingly, I refrained from any such thing. They heard me calmly and gathered certain information from my end very politely; like the Information of my location and professional details etc. In the mean time I called up HDFC Credit Card division and asked what all was happening. They assured me that there was no such amount on my card and the calls were almost stopped. But last week I again got a call regarding the same. With an obvious frustration I asked for the details of HDFC branch and calling person’s employment. He failed to do it, and when I told that I’ll go to police with his number and name, he told me that he was from a collection agency.

    On account of taking some legal action, I suggested him not to call me. He agreed and there was the silence of around a fortnight. Two or three days back I again got a call from a cellular number stating the same things, but in a very rude manner. I requested him to be patient and asked his branch and name. He became abusive and started scolding me giving the references of all the details I had remitted on earlier calls. He told that he’ll take care of me and my family members outside. I somehow tried to make him understand that he should do some more investigations before claiming such a huge amount on someone like this. He kept on abusing me and told that he was speaking from Richmond Road branch; Bangalore and I can take whichever action I wanted against him. Since that time I am very much disturbed and don’t know what to do and where to go. Today I called HDFC Credit Card division again, and confirmed regarding any such outstanding. They denied it. But I am really surprised about what all is happening. In order to seek a resolution, I am thinking of closing my relationship with HDFC, if this really is causing me problem. Can anyone help me against this situation?

    My customer ID with HDFC is 34755332, Credit Card Number ends with 5679, & Name isShri Kant Dubey
    If this content is being gone through any HDFC official please do let me know whether this weird happening will have an end or I’ll have to break my relation with HDFC?
