Hi team,
This is Naresh and my wife's name is darshana. she is a HDFC Credit Card Holder (Card No:- 4346 xxxx xxxx 2124). we had an amount of 9000 as balance. She continued to pay always more than the actual minimum due amount for more than 1 year.Due time in few months the outstanding grew upto nearly 16000. we filed for a settlement and cancellation of the card. The settlement has been done by an HDFC agent for the sum of 10000 with six installemts. this was in the month of Jan 2010.
She managed to pay the installments inspite of being on Maternity Leave. She delivered Baby boy on June 5th and was unable to continue the installments as she went through caesarian surgery. Doctor mentioned 6 months of mandatory bed rest...Actual pain starts from here. The Credit Card department never tried to call us nor they have any intimations for the installments delays. In August I was transfered to Hyderabad for bussiness project. so i was away from this issue. Now In January 2011 my wife receives a Call saying that you have an outstanding amount of 24000 which was a mouth wide suprise. and they started forcing us with 3 calls per day for paying the amount in one shot without any minimum payments, they kept on poking us, saying this is month end , this is month end.
We defended by explaining our situation and requested thet we wuill continue the Installments as we had an medical emrgency.. we were ready to produce all the medical documents of Wadia Childrens Hospital (Mumbai). She rudely ignored and started shouting that they dont show any sympathy and they want the payment in one shot only.

The big bang now is that they freezed my wife's HFDC account and all the money in the account is blocked now. They say that if we pay 24000 they will release the HDFC savings account money. We are really having big trouble with this situation. If Delivering my baby is not considered as a part of humanity, then HDFC is not run by humans , may be they are some kind of Aliens with no humanity...All we want is to continue the Installemets which we stopped and close teh account. We have a valid reason for delay in payments. I guess if HDFC bank is a human being then it will know the severity of the caesarian surgery which really banged me financially. Hope HDFC understand this and allow me/wife to make the rest of the Installments. We want to continue with the savings account which right now is freezed, and made our lives dead. If our savings are freezed like this, then dont u think this is a kind of financial harrasment. We are facing Family quarrels and social interruptions due to this credit card issue.. Myself and my wife are very depressed with this situation. May be i cant take this anymore till a solution arises.
Hope HDFC will go through this.
1. We want to Pay the rest of the pending Installmets in one shot (One Pay).
2. Request you consider this on sympathy gound.
3. Our lives freezed as you people freezed our HDFC savings Account.
4. If you block the money in our account, how can we make the payment? we are fine if you take away the rest of pending amount of the settlement from our bank account..but HDFC deny this.
5. Why no one called during these 8 months.? Why didnt they freeze account earlier? Why they waited till teh OT 24000 and suddenly freezed the account before calling us?
6. Why they freezed our account when our account has a good balance , why not when it having a low balance?
7. Actual amount used is 9000, our statement ****ysis shows we have payed more than wat we have used...and now still they want 24000 from us.

Do we have to stop living in this world just becoz we have issues with HFDC Credit Card?

This is Shobha...I and my husband are hdfc crdt crd holders since quite some time now and we pay our more than minimum dues reguraly.....But since past two mnths for some financial issues we are unable to pay the same and have intimated the bank that the same would be cleared beginning of nxt month on priority....But the collections agencies go to the extent of threatening us and abusing us .....
Also they keep on repaetedly calling and doing the same ...Almost 30/40 harrasment calls we receive in a day ....
THIS I FEEL IS SHEER HARASSMENT TO THE CUSTOMER AND I SINCERELY REQUEST THE RBI AND CONSUMER FORUM TO TAKE SEVERE ACTION AGAINST THE SAME and with every bank..its the same HISTORY...
we are DEFINATELY NOT FRAUDS BUT EXPECT SOME KIND OF UNDERSTANDING FROM THE BANKS IN SUCH UNAVAOIDABLE CIRCUMSTANCES.
NO BANKS SHOULD BE GIVEN THE RIGHTS TO HARASS THEIR CUSTOMERS IN SUCH A MANNER.
WE ARE THE PEOPLE WHO PAY HIGH PRICES FOR NOT MAKING PAYMENTS IN TIME >>>>SO WHY SHOULD WE EVEN TAKE THE SHIT FROM THEM ALL THE TIME.
NOT MAKING PAYMENTS IS NOT OUR HOBBY AND WE ARE NOT INTERESTED IN THEIR HARASSMENT CALLS.....
I ONCE AGAIN REQUEST YOU TO CONSIDER THE SAME AND SET COLLECTION GUIDELINES FOR THE BANKS FOR SUCH HARRSMENT.
Would appreciate your early response in guiding us HOW TO DEAL WITH SUCH BANKS AND INSTITUTIONS.

I know HDFC People dont have answeer to this.....they have taken all my money from the bank 3 days back and still they want more money to make my card back to normal.....wat the hell on earth is this.....HDFC is a money sucking Leech. No hdfc cust rep wants to hear from us...but they will go on telling us to make make and keep on making paymets to HDFC. Frustrated very frustrated , with this shit and complications in my life with this hdfc credit card.....i guess now people will be more threatned by banks instead of underworld dons as both do the same thing
