My name is Subrata Mohanta I had a card with HDFC in 2008 with a limit of 12,000, I used and couldn’t pay due to loss of my job the recession, after that I moved to Bangalore, I was jobless still paid dues whenever I got calls from the representatives several times while staying in Bangalore.
After few months I got a job in Indinesia and I was relocated to there. As my HDFC account was a salary account and was not being used for several months my online banking was disabled and I didn’t have any idea about the outstanding amount, after some 6 months HDFC representatives started calling at my residence every time.
I took the number of the representative (Mr. Himansu Sharma, Debt Department, HDFC New Delhi) from my younger brother and try to settle down the dues once forever, that time as per the amount stated by the agent i.e. INR 15000.00, I deposited with the hope that my account would be settled forever and would not get any further harassing calls from any representative of HDFC.
After 1 month I was relocated to Malaysia and now I am working here in Malaysia, I was quite happy but suddenly today I came to know that my parents got a letter from an Advocate stating that I have not cleared the amount and I would be sued for the same in case I fail to pay within seven days.
Later I talked to one representative from Debt department named Mr. Ravi Sharma. He told just deposit the amount and the account would be closed forever, So deposited the amount with some extra money to process the transaction. But I made a condition I need the letter of confirmation that my account is closed and I shall never get any kind of calls from any representative.
Now its already 3 days and I have not received any kind of letter from HDFC, now what would I think ????
When I logged this matter in grievance.redressalcc@hdfcbank.com no body responded. Again I logged the issue in talktous@hdfcbank.com, I got only the reference number "HBL=012-045-677" thats all.
No action has been taken.
