Hi i was using a HSBC credit card having limit of 15000, i have used around from 2007 - april 2009, till that time, all the payments are paid on time. But on June 2009, I have lost my job due to recession, & I got job in Jan 2010. so due to that i was unable to do payment. Now two days back I received a call from police (SI) from Delhi called up and said warrant will be issued against me in Delhi police station and also he gave advocate’s mobile number and suggested to settle down the problems with advocate so that they can withdraw the case against me. When I contacted that lady advocate she told me to deposit 30000 within 1 hour so that she can withdraw the case against me, I was taken aback and it was greatest shock in my life.
I am really worried and don’t know what to do … she is in fact harassing and threatening me .. Please advise….

The call was not from the police station. I can assure you that police does not call people like this... they would come and arrest you if they had a complaint but credit cards are unsecured and there is no way police can tell you to pay up.. Police does not have such authority.

Next time you get a call threatening you like this just note down the numbers and go to your nearest police station and file a complaint stating whatever threats you have recieved.

If a company want to file a case in the court of law they wont ask you to talk to their lawyer like you mentioned above... These calls were from some debt collection agency trying to get money out of you... If you owe them money or not is a different matter all together.
