    Default ICICI bank CREDIT CARD ISSUE

    Hi,
    I was shocked when suddenly my account was debited with approximately with Rs 17800+ leaving me with a debit balance of Rs 6850 on the morning of the 25th of Decmber, just when I was travelling to New Delhi from Kolkata. I couldn't fathom what struck me, when I called up the customer care they could neither tell me what was the reason for the debit. Nor there were any cheques issued and nor any over purchases or anything. While reaching Delhi I found out that it was liened against a credit card of mine which i owned the bank. I NEVER owned any credit card of ICICI bank in my lif. It took toll on my pressure as i had gone there for a medical fitness test for going abroad, and I was almost being declared unfit for my pressure ,After following up for three days the said it was a due on my credit card and the will send me a statement. they statement send me a statement on the 30th January for the period of 6th of November to 5th of December stating opening balanace and closing balance same as 17,875.03 which is due.
    The actual issue is I have used a TATA Finance Amex Card in 2002 which has been fully paid on the 03/12/03,with a cash amount of Rs 14500 and cheque of Rs 14500 total 29000 . AS AFULL AND FINAL PAYMENT TO IT. I HAVE TWO FINAL SETLLEMENT BILLS OF RS 14500 EACH ONE IN CASH ONE IN CHEQUE ( WHICH IS CLEARED). After speaking to the RUDE customer care officer named Puneeet he couldn't even give me any details of my usage of my cards. I will put up the issue with R.B.I. AND WITH THE CONSUMER FORUM TO TAKE ACTION FOR MY HARRASSMENT AND WOULD ALSO LIKE TO MENTION I WAS IN MAURITIUS SINCE SEPTEMBER 2002 TILL 2005 AND THE CARD WAS LOST AND I HAD PUT A STOP PAYMENT IN 2003 MARCH. HATS OFF TO TO ICICI BANK FOR HARRASSING CUSTOMERS.

    i will try to get an email address which you might copy when u send to the above indicated mailbox of ICICI.

    i been observing the behavior of some of these companies for sometime now on public forums such as this ,facebook and twitter.

    The moment you post a complaint there is a copy paste script put within a time frame < 24 hrs or so ( i strongly guess that time is the contract agreement for some vendors ICICI or Airtel or other such company has to address issue and route them into there respective complaint depts... a good move.. but unsure with the poor commitment to timelines these folks have how far it will be effective... )

    To ensure there is more clarity. I suggest either there is a common thread on this forum(its a vbulletin forum) where emails send back and forth gets updated ... copying an email adress of the forum( that thread or post as we call it) to the complaint cell(or email address) would do,...

    or else we will have some obudsman or media's information cell copied in the emails send across. that will add more speed to resolution ( i do not mind delay as long as i am kept informed and time committed is kept up.,. if there is delay let them call up and inform us)

    Thumbs down ICICI - rubbish service,no commitment

    All,

    I am but thoroughly upset and deeply enraged at the pathetic customer handling skills exhibited by the ICICI.

    I unfortunately decided to do business with ICICI ( greatest mistake.. now I know why my company folks > 30,000 employee are deciding to move to other banks)...

    I had applied for a Credit card online and an automated email was triggered to me from there mailbox on 15th of Dec , 2011. Asking me to reply from my official email address for confirmation. Which i did the same day ( in 3-4 hrs)

    I got a couple of verification calls ( per process) and i was told that i am eligible for an Platinum Card ( i was told in details the conditions.. I am happy hear because of being told the charges and rates in detail...before i sign up)..

    A gentle man from ICICI ( or there appointed agency) comes in gets my address verified in person and returns.

    Now comes the bad part... I got another call same day ( as told by my first contact- i lost that ladies name ) on the second call they wanted to get some documents from my end to be furnished ( verification, address proof, salary proof etc..).. to which i agreed and an i was TOLD that one of there rep would come down and collect it on20th ( tuesday betwwen 1 and 3 PM IST).... And i waited after having all the required documents and photographs ready. No one came????

    I called up there customer care ( the other number where i got call would not pick the call anyway).. and after being asked to run from pillar to post i landed in credit card dept (some guys wanted me to enter credit card num on IVR -- little did they understand i never had a card and my call was in regard to its appplication status).. any way...
    in the credit card depart-
    no matter what they search with they are unable to track my details- finally after two more rounds and managers i get the message that my application was Rejected?????? --- when asked the reason for the same ( i am still calm).. i was told that some documents were not provided (lol...) i told them that is exactly why i had called... ICICI rep setup an appointment to meet me and get the documents but HE /SHE FAILED TO HONOUR their commitment (no one came- Note I am not staying in Africa.. another rep had come there to verify my address so its reachable and smack in the center of the city..grrrrrrrrrr).
    Finally the rep (nice chap) decides to take down another request ( oh my god another 10 Days more.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr i am getting pissed offf).... I spoke to his boss shared some feeback on the way few reps handled my call. and i hung up ( now this happened on 27th).

    No SMS no EMAIL , No call nothing ( not on personal nor on official contacts).....

    I wait speak to my Father -( he is a Director in a Bank-) He suggests i report to Bankind Ombudsman. and suggests me to try in a nationalized bank ( i walk in wait there for 2-3 hrs... some old ladies and folks with broken english but all smiles..... do there best and take my request.. i am proud of the change in nationalized banks and the low charges --- 0% joining and annual fee .. and intrest @ 24% etc..)

    Ok back home( its 9th Jan)-- I share the feedback to my Dad on how great an org he is part of ( i rarely do that) and get really angry on ICICI..call up there customer care again and ask for details-- I get another suggest for taking a fresh request and i am being told the Turn around time is 21 business days ( WTF!!!.. first its 15 days then 10 days and now 21 days.. all bussiness days.. either these folks on calls are morons or they never get any training or updates from ICICI on there policy).

    Pissed off- I decide to walk into my Nearest ICICI Branch .. (Kadavantra Branch, Cochin) and take a token .....wait for 10 mins.. meet a lady.. tell her the whole story... she speak s English pretty ok but was looking at what is happening behind me..no eye to eye contact.. and suggest i check with another branch in city (8-10 kms after wading to thick traffic jam on a hot sunny day.. mind u i ts a monday and I work night shifts.. no sleep yet grrrrrrrrrr)..

    I land in the suggested branch ( ICICI Mg road branch) and as politely suggested by the ICICI Permanent Employee inside there office building.. i go to 3rd floor and get in..

    I am told to meet one Mr Ragavan ( I am tired .. no sleep, i am struggling to keep level head).. i tell him details.. initially he laughed and said he could not help as he is in Recovery division but when i shared the details and expressed my frustration (in balanced voice.. not raising it ) he understood and called up his counter part in credit card division ( this was a good gesture from ICICI person.. and I start to ease).. He spoke to someone called Jithu or JIth ( unsure but is a manager) and later spoke to a Mr Gireesh... this Gireesh fellow later spoke to me on the same phone line and agreed to call me today ( Tuesday and collect the documents from me)..
    I thank this person and re-confirmed the details of the Phone support vendor( my company services ICICI in certain section.. i just clarified that it was not my folks that i had to meet on phone support or card division.. i would have been extremely pissed off if that was the case and would have gone to any extent to rap the folks and there mgmt from within my organization)... he re-assured that it was not my company folks who does that part of there business ...Happy learning that, I thanked him for his bit and left for work.

    Now tuesday comes in ... ( i am sleeping after shift).. i woke up at 11:55 AM, Check my phone.. no miss call nothing... Again these folks missed-- GRRRRRRRRRr holy cow..
    I checked and realized i had not collected my Ragavans contact nor the other blokes.

    I call up there stupid phone support.. speak to a lady named preetha.. tell her all details.. she offered a call back in 1 hour's time ( i doublecheked its 1 hour).. its been over 3 hrs and no one called up. HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!!!...... if the customer had to miss there commitment by even a minute i am sure these folks would ask for charges.. what about them.. I am seriously contemplating switching my salary account else where and also send very strong suggestion( with details from this long post) to the ICICI corp rep officer for our ORG- and the HR Global head of our company recommending not to do business with such a shady and thoroughly incompetent outfit ( which does not comply to basic customer handling netiquettes or business practices even with multiple misses on same customer.. who warns to be careful... how much clue can i give these folks)......

    P.S: In the mean time- i tried with no success to reach Mr Ragavan via ICICI branch phone number... any ways its not him but the company that i am now pissed off with.

    I am more than sure that this forum is manned by some agents paid to route queries/compaints into ICICI network but if by chance any EXECs happen to see this.. I must tell ICICI Consumer - customer handling SUCKS!!!!! ( sorry for my language but I really mean it)

    Finally I have not yet decided on Reserve Bank of India which I might but --- let;s see how far this is going to go further...

    I called up again -- got a Manager ( TL)... shared details she was quick to apologize and-- I shoot a mail to the mailbox address care@icicibank and ...

    Now- i am being told my city cochin does not have an option for card.. 20 days numerous calls... this is rubbish

    This is to in form you that one Mr. Vinod Kumar had sent me a mail asking for my payment proofs. I had sent him several mails but he did not reply to even one of those. Even I tried to mail him the receipts copies but the mails are bouncing back from your server. Yesterday the lien was removed and the money has been debited from my account for a non existing card, The card wad closed on closed on the 3rd of December 20003 by making a full and final payment of Rs 29000.
    How long this is going to carry on ? No reply to my mails, no acknowledgments of my payments and suddenly as debit in my account after nine years.

    Only once a call came from a lady on tuesday at around 7.30p.m. while I was travelling, she promised to call back the next day but till today there has been no calls.

    ok-- there are multiple issues on the same thread- if there is an admin please move this to three seperate threads under the main topic-- else we are going to loose track and none of us can be helped on the forum

    P.S: After all that mess- I was again promised that somone will get back to me in 24-48 hrs... Still NO ONE BOTHERED TO CONTACT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..
