    Default SBI Card/Credit Card

    Hi Sir/Madam,

    I have booked a Balance Transfer on 01-07-2011 from my SBI credit card to Citibank credit card for the amount of Rs 13484.00. I received a cheque (#91617) for the amount of Rs 13484.00 and on 07-07-2011, I dropped it in Citibank ATM, BTM Layout, Bangalore.

    On Wednesday 12 July 2011 I called Citibank to inquire whether they have receive the cheque or not, they told me they have not received, on this same day I called SBI Card customer care to cancel the Balance Transfer and the cheque. They told me that they will cancel and i will receive alert sms for that. After one day i did not receive any alert for the cancellation ii called them again to cancel both the Balance transfer and the cheque, but still i did not get any alert message/sms.

    Again I did not receive any alert for the cancellation, repeatedly I called Customer care for the cancellation, but no response for the cancellation.

    Alarming of the situation I called them again to cancel the card itself.

    But after few days when I called SBI card services, to my surprise they said that the cheque has been cleared by Citibank but I did not get any amount credited to my Citibank credit card. I also called Citibank and their response is that they have not recieved any cheque.

    Later I came to know that the Citibank credit card they have mentioned on the cheque does not exist as per the mail from Citibank.

    I have raised a complaint to both the banks(SBI Card and Citibank) and both of them came up with their own theory.

    SBI Card issued a certificate to me saying that the cheque(#091617) has been cleared by the Citibank

    and Citibank sent mail to me saying that they have never receive the cheque(#091617) and the wrong credit card in the cheque does not exist.


    Now which one is correct ?????????????

    I have the SBI Certificate and the Citibank mail with me.

    Somebody help me please...

    Whom should i complaint about this?

    My payment for the cheque already lapsed, they have incurred penalty in the SBI card.

    Hi All,

    I would like to clarify that the blunder is from Citibank Bangalore, they have recieved and cleared the cheque but they keep on denying that they have received.They even sent 2 mails to me saying that they have not receive the cheque. Until i file a complaint with the Banking Ombudsman, they credit the amount to my Citibank credit card.

    Now i am planning to take them to court. Anyone guide me the best way to do this.

    This is a month long mental harassment, forget about the my mobile bills for calling both the parties(SBI and Citibank)
    All they have to say is "We are sorry/We apologise" without even knowing the value of the words.
