    Default Settlement on HDFC credit card

    This is in regards to the full and final settlement on my card # ***

    I am ready to pay the amount after settlement as don’t want this humiliation and violation of my privacy.Bank needs to be more careful while making call to avoid any mishappening as my parent are really scared and traumatized right now. This is not at all a good sign for my family.

    For the same I have been speaking to the Customer care dept @ 01141514332 since last month and they suggested me to speak to the billing dept @ 01143161513, 01143161511 for settlement. They asked me to get the EMI preclosed same was done on 30th April with 3% interest.I spoke with Radhika, Nikunj, Megha, Mandeep at the billing department as per them the request has been sent to the Manager but I have not received a single call yet.

    Since last 5 days calls are being made to my alternate number which is my Father's number and the person named Vikrant, Vikram , Isha from 01144010101,01143145000, 01143145300,08802272822,01143145300, 01143145100, 01166219061 from rajouri are giving an Abusive call and using wrong language and un- necessary mental harassment is given and they CALL THEM SELF AS A BANKER

    Every time I call the billing dept @ 01143161513, 01143161511 they say wait for 24 hrs. I have also placed a request for the nature of calls but got no resolution.

    If you see my past records since last 2 yrs I have been paying my dues on time without any failure but as I am running through financial crunch so my kindest request to you is to please do the full and final settlement of my A/c ASAP.

    Thus, Request you to take corrective action and arrange a decent call back from your Collection Team.

    Below are the details of my conversation. AS you can see that I have always been in touch with the bank.

    The thread opener has posted a lot of complaint numbers why do you want him to send another e-mail?

    If you were really interested in resolving this issue you could have picked up the information using the complaint numbers posted in the thread. I deleted the card number for security reasons.

    If posting a sorry is all you are going to do on this forum then I will have to ban you id and restrict any other future attempts from Hdfc to respond to complaints from other members on this forum.

    Either do something about the complaint or dont post a reply atall... I wont let you do a face saving excercise here. Airtel is banned from this forum for the very same reason because they used to post a message saying send an e-mail to so and so address and no resolution or even a simple response... I found out as I had a billing issue myself.

    Keep it clean is all we want from any company representatives here.

    We would like to assure you that the Bank treats all online complaints registered on such forums on an equal footing with complaints it receives through any other medium. We do try and resolve all these complaints at the earliest.

    The only reason we request customers to write in to us is because we have no means of verifying the customer's details otherwise - either by name or account number. As a security measure, we discourage customers from sharing account details on a public forum; hence, the request to send us an email. Further, on closure of the customer complaint we would post a closure comment on the forum.

    Unhappy 3 months - Still No resolution

    Dear Sir / Madam,

    this is a kind request to you to look into my concern as i am running through financial losses and since last 3 months talking to Hdfc dept for my card settlement. This is really bad as I have mailed to talktous@hdfcbank.com and again one reff ID : HBL=009-451-270 has been created againts TTU00036518052010.

    Request you to please Iook into my concern on a serious note.

    Thank you so much for such a prompt reply even the same is expected from the Hdfc Bank.........
    Since a week there was no such abusive call landed. However when I receive a call the concerned person is not talking about settlement rather misguiding me every time and I also know the reason why since few days I am not getting call is due to month end and closing the bank does. Now I could say that its been ages I have been talking to bank for some help but every-time they ask me to keep patience and EOD i get nothing.

    Being an outstation candidate leaving alone I at times get scared of calls as the way they threaten me for money.

    Please Help

    If you get any calls again that are unpleasant you should go down to the local police station and submit a complaint for starters.

    HDFC bank does not have a legal right to abuse any one verbally or physically. Credit card debt is unsecured debt and the bank cant really do much to get their money back so they sell the debt to third parties who resort to such illegal activities like harassing the card holder by calling again and again and abusing.


    @ HDFC Bank I would love to see this issue resolved as soon as possible and most certainly the abusive calls are a big no no.

    Dear Harpreet,

    As per the Bank's records, this matter was successfully resolved on 24 May 2010. You shouldn't be receiving any more such calls. If you do receive them in the future, please note down the name and number of the person calling, and the Bank will initiate action immediately.

    Dear HDFC Bank,

    I have started receiving calls from Collection dept. Numbers 01147321200, 01143145000 and they really don't want to listen me. Today a lady called me and said that as per my request they have waived Rs 00000 wherein nobody ever discussed about the same and started threaten me by saying if I do not make the full payment she will send collection people to my permanent and temporary address.

    I fail to understand its been 3 + months I am requesting for full and final settlement due to some personal problem. I have written so many times to hdfc and talktous about my problem today also once again I spoke with the debt department and registered my complaint regarding settlement with Ms. Hemal.

    Please let me know the minimum amount which I can pay and close my credit card A/c as the interest on my card is increasing.

    Do not believe anything they say to you over the phone as you cannot prove it later... If you are told that just pay Rs xyz and the account will be closed then do not just pay it just like that... ask HDFC to send you an offer letter for full settlement of the credit card account. If they dont then dont payup. Hdfc is not a law enforcement agency and have no right to force some one to pay any amount of money ... if they want they can take you to court and spend more money in legal process then you owe them

    Sending people for recovery? Tell them to send as many people as they want and just call the police on 100 if things get ugly and get help from people who live around you. If I was you I would let them come into my house and shoot them all in their legs and make them run for their lives and get them arrested for tress pass.

    There is a rule of law in this country and this bullying is a thing of the past..

    Do not pay them anything until you receive a statement from them and get it in written that if you pay so and so amount the account will be settled for good.


    Let me know if your issue is not resolved and I will make this thread a sticky and ask bloggers to link to it and make some noises in some important ears.

    I am going to find out for you if this is HDFC themselves or a debt collection agency and let you know how to give them the taste of their own medicine. Give it until Monday morning.


    I am going to write a few pages on how to deal with banks in situations like these and a step by step guide to get such miscreants to justice.

    Dear Admin,

    As I said earlier to you regarding HDFC threatening calls. This time these people have sent some collection agent to my temporary address. Where in the executive (Mr. Pawan) was very rude to my landlord. Also while leaving he gave his personal mobile number 9891585215 and asked my landloard to give it to me.

    I am really disturbed now seeing the attitude of the bank. Its been ages that I have be talking to these people for full and final settlement but every time they try to route or miss communicate.

    Please I request HDFC to make it as soon as possible because now I just can not take this pressure anymore.

    Dear Admin,

    I am really upset and depressed as its been 5 months now and still my a/c is active and levied with fine and intrest month on month.

    Threating calls for payment, people coming at my place for collection. The day when i said that i want settlement my outstanding was around 35000 and now when i see my statment its 50000+. Please guide me what do i need to do now. I am continiously in touch with the bank but still they dont miss a chance to harass their customer. This behaviour of bank is not expected. Every time i write a mail they give me a new email address to write a mail. I was continiously in touch with Mr. Sunil Puri @talktous but now he is saying to write a mail to customercare id. I am really affraid what is gonna happen next because hdfc officer doesnt know the exact procedure of the bank..

    Need your help to sort out the matter at the earliest

    Default Harassment by HDFC collection agents

    Hello everyone,
    This is to update you about the unethical ways resorted by HDFC bank to collect the outstanding credit card dues.HDFC at regular intervals deploy collection agencies who at their will and wish call up relatives,spouse,neighbours of any defaulter to collect the dues.
    It is highly unacceptable on their part to call up elderly persons who are neigbours telling them that they are from courier company,jobs sites and searching for us to deliver courier or offer jobs.When they receive response to call the recipient directly,they repy rude to relatives,neighours and ask them to pay them money or else receive dire consequences.
    I was just about to launch an FIR since I had contacts / relatives in Delhi police,its just that I wanted to avoid legal complications,but before that representative from HDFC aplogized for the same and mentioned that they would ask the collection agents not to perform such steps.
    #'s from where such calls were received : 011-43161720 / 011- 43161820.There would be many such agencies operating from Delhi and other locations which should be legally blocklisted.And I would advice anyone and everyone not to hesitate lodging an online FIR in the first go.

    My friend was really in to distress when one of the HDFC collection agency came and tried to pull out chain from his mother and threatened her when no one was there in his house for an one month pending due of Rs.3200. He was about to pay the money, but when such things happened he changed his house and mobile no and he purposefuly became a defaulter. This happened some 4 - 5 years before and now he is free.I dont know what steps would be taken to solve these issues after reading so many posts here.

    Dear HDFC bank Credit card division,
    I want a settlement for my credit card which is not active, but wish to settle the outstanding. But all your collection people talking about the payment only not interested in settlement.

    Ask them to call me and settle as well as
