    Default Unethical Billing by RBS

I had requested RBS customer care executive to close my credit card account because they had reduced my credit limit from Rs. 73000/- to Rs. 2000/- without any prior intimation. This was somewhere in the month of June 2010. Executive had advised me to pay the outstanding amount of Rs. 530/- post which the account will be closed (Bank can check the recordings). I paid the said outstanding in the month of July 2010 & had recd the SMS from LM-RBS N.V. on 24th July confirming the same. I have not been using this card since June 2010 (or before). I had not recd any statements too after that. Since, I was not receiving any statements, I thought it has been closed.

I had sent a mail to RBS on 19th July '10 where I had clearly mentioned that I have already applied for cancellation of card, but even then there was no action on the same.

Last month I received a mail with card statement which said the card is overdue. They have charged me Rs. 2000/- as membership fees on a card which had credit limit of Rs. 2000/-. Moreover, this card was offered to me as life time free card by ABN Amro (earlier bank was ABN Amro). Hence, no question of charging any membership fees. The latest statement is again showing membership fees of Rs. 2000/-. It means I am being charged membership fees every month.

Inspite of sending compliants to the bank, there is no response to resolve the matter, but the bills are being sent to me.

Need some assistance from Consumer Forum to close this case ASAP.

    Dear Team,
Request you to please assist me in closing this ASAP as there seems no hope from the bank & they are charging me with membership fees every month for a card which was supposed to be free for life time.
