Dear Sir/ Madam,
Please find hereunder message sent by me to ICICI Bank Grievance Dept. on 07.01.11 for a reply for which I've followed up with their customer service from 1st January 2011. Still they haven't come back on it.
Please help with a solution.

TO WHOMSOEVER IT MAY CONCERN
With reference to the subject, please be advised as hereunder:
1. I had issued a Cheque for payment of Rs. 32, 673/- for statement dt. 20.11.10 which was due on 08.12.10. Cheque was well dropped in your dropbox @ Vile-Parle Hanuman Road Branch on 05.12.10. It was after 3 weeks that I started getting thrid party calls from your SO CALLED COLLECTION CENTRES asking for this particular payment which made me eager to call the bank and confirm of the receipt of this payment. When I called the customer service number 28307777 there was some lady who answered my call and just provided me the information that payment was well received by the bank but there was a "DISCREPANCY" in the cheque and payment wasn't cleared? I WAS VERY MUCH SURPRISED TO KNOW THAT WHY THE BANK WAS SLEEPING OVER THIS ISSUE AND I WASN'T INFORMED FOR THIS PARTICULAR DISCREPANCY? Upon knowing this issue I promised to immediately clear the total outstanding dues amounting to Rs. 34,344/- and the payment was received at your end and cleared very much which reflected in my statement dt. 21.12.10 which was received by me on 31.12.10 via post.
2. Now in this statement of 21.12.10 I WAS AGAIN SURPRISED TO KNOW THAT TOTAL CHARGES FOR INTEREST AND SERVICE TAX AMOUNTING TO RS. 3,449.75 WERE CHARGED TO ME? I again called up your customer service people on 28307777 on 1st Jan 2011 and told them about this issue for which they provided me the reference no. FR161904630 and committed for THESE CHARGES WILL BE WAIVED OFF. From this day till today these charges have not been waived off.
Kindly note I am very much dissatisfied with your services for hereunder reasons:
* In this case it was the credit card departments/ banks duty to inform me asap for there was any discrepancy in the cheque which was kept secret with the customer service. Don't know what is the customer service there for? Can't they have clear information for your customers?
* The female who handled my complaint call was very much rude. Incase, that call is recorded with you then please listen to it carefully as it will be a PROOF for you. She was trying to impose rules and regulations to me rather than understanding the whole situation and not agreeing that it was the banks mistake for not informing me about the discrepancy. She was not at all ready to help me and was ofcourse not a good listener at all. It was me who had to waste my Half an hour to talk to her and make her understand the whole scenario and also to find the resolution. TELL ME IS THIS THE JOB OF THE CUSTOMER TO FIND A RESOLUTION OR IT IS THE JOB OF THE CUSTOMER SERVICE? WHAT DOES THE BANK PAY THEM FOR? ARGUING WITH CUSTOMERS?
* For this particular card you may please go back to the payment history from Day 1 and the kind of business which has been provided to you. In return, The bank is not even providing me no good credit limit, no good credit period, no good customer service and levying various interest charges which is very much unfair to me. FYI, I do hold many other credit cards from your competitors but till date I haven't received such a bad treatment from them.
TO MY OPINION I AM NOT WILLING TO PAY THESE CHARGES AMOUNTING TO RS. 3,449.75 WHICH ARE LEVIED TO ME FOR BANKS MISTAKE. STILL IF THE BANK IS NOT READY TO WAVE OFF THESE CHARGES FOR ME THEN I WILL UNHAPPILY MAKE THIS PAYMENT AND ARRANGE TO DISCONTINUE USING YOUR CREDIT CARD WITH IMMEDIATE EFFECT.
KINDLY CONFIRM YOUR UNDERSTANDING TO PROCEED ASAP.
