Dear Sir,

My ward is studing in Greens English High School of Dombivli (E). Most of the parents whose ward is studing in this school comes from middle class family like me whose monthly income is low. After the last academic year the school authorities along with the results of our ward gave us a letter of fees hike. This letter was given to all parents after the school was closed for vaccations. The monthly fee for the last year was Rs.305/- which now they raised to Rs. 475./- ie. an hike of Rs.170/-. In this time of recession & period of financial crunches where many of the parents have lost their jobs like me and are trying some how to run their daily household expenditure it is very difficult.

We parents along with last PTA representatives who had signed the note of fees revision and had signed blindly the notice, approched the school authorities for consideration in their notice on 19th June, 2010. The authorities pinpointed the management for the revision and their inability to make any changes in the said notice. The parents and their representatives got annoyed with their behaviour and forced the authorities to see the chairman. The Chairman Mr.Dr. Gandhi initially refused to meet the deligation but after looking at the agreeved parents accepted to walk in to the school premises. After loking at the crowd he accepted to arrange one more meeting with the parents on next saturday that was 26th June, 2010. He assured the deligation that he would get the necessary accounts and his other collegues to talk to us and come to one definite solution to avoid clashes. All the deligation members agreed to this and for peaceful solution decided to meet comming saturday that was 26th June, 2010. In the morning of Monday, 21st June 2010 all parents were shoked as the notice board showed outside the school premises that all parents shoud pay the fees and no issues regarding it would be taken up for consideration.

Sir, We parents think that the consumer forum shold help all the parents of Greens English High School to get this fee rise either reduced or removed for the benifit of the low income group. we expect atleast the managing body of the consumer forum should atlest send one representative to check in this matter wheather this case could be taken for hearing by your board.
