I am a student who appeared for the AIEEE'11on may01,as all knows the exam was postponed 3hrs due to leak,I dont know why no one has complained about the quality of this replacement paper,there are many questions printed with mistakes,and now they are going to conduct another exam for some 32,000 students on may11 2011,This is not fair & is unequal,the question pattern is already known. Total marks are already known. Those who will appear on 11 May will have extra 10 days for preparation with the new question pattern.I request the support of all students to conduct a re test for all students applied for AIEEE.

The CBSE’s decision to reschedule AIEEE for candidates who couldn’t take the test following the paper leak this Sunday faced resistance today with some parents asking how the board would ensure that the new set of questions was not easier than the one administered to some students on May 1.

The parents approached the HRD Ministry with a suggestion that the CBSE make the reappear option of May 11 (from 9.30 am to 12.30 pm in 38 cities) available and open to all candidates and make the final selection on the basis of the best-of-two exam scores. This, they said, would meet the challenge of standardisation which the CBSE would face in the event of two question papers considering the difficulty levels of the tests would be impossible to reconcile and normalise.

The suggestion came from Professor Rajeev Kumar of the IIT, Kharagpur, the man behind the IIT-JEE reform movement who said his daughter took the test on May 1 but would also prefer to take the May 11 rescheduled exam. The ministry has forwarded the suggestion to the CBSE for consideration, but says it would involve a huge logistical challenge.

The suggestion backed by many parents contends that the AIEEE is a hugely competitive exam, with each mark impacting a students’ rank.

“Each question makes a difference of 5 marks. If the reappear option is open to everyone, the best of the scores (of two exams) can prevail and the fear of discrimination ruled out. We suggest that the CBSE consider the re-test option for all who want to reappear. This approach will nullify the problem of standardisation of the question paper,” Kumar petitioned, though the ministry feels it would be difficult to implement this suggestion considering 12 lakh candidates registered for the AIEEE.

While a majority took the exam on May 1 (after the CBSE administered them a new question paper, considering the original was leaked), about 32,000 could not take the test due to the delay and consequent clash with the Armed Forced Medical College (AFMC) test which was also to be held the same day.

Parents say the CBSE should consider the reappear option to make the exam inclusive and prevent legal wrangles later on account of discrimination. “The CBSE can use the All-India Radio, the DD and all TV channels to disseminate this message at the earliest. It can tell the students that the same centre and the same roll number will be allowed and that the reappear is optional to allow students a chance to take the second test and standardise their scores,” parents added.

New Delhi, May 4 (PTI) An AIEEE candidate, who sat for the exam after a delay of three hours due to question paper leak on May 1, today approached the Delhi High Court seeking a direction to allow her to appear in the rescheduled test, saying she was forced to give the entrance examination in adverse conditions.

Filing a petition through counsel R K Saini and Sitab Ali Chaudhary, the petitioner Schalka Tyagi while referring to the advertisements in different news papers said the organisers have rescheduled the examination for only those candidate who were not able to appear it on May 1 which is "arbitrary, illegal and unjust".

She submitted that she was not given information about the rescheduling of the exam and was compelled to give the exam under adverse conditions and circumstances which is violative of fundamental rights.

Tyagi pleaded that she should be allowed to appear in the examination rescheduled for May 11.

She was not given any option to chose to appear in the next date of examination, the petition said, adding "she and other students were treated in a cruel, indifferent and insensitive manner and they have been discriminated by the organisers".

The petition is likely to be listed for hearing tomorrow.

Last Sunday, the All India Engineering Entrance Examination organised by CBSE was delayed by three hours following a paper leak. The exam was scheduled at 9.30 AM but was rescheduled to begin at 12 noon on the same day.

The question paper was reportedly being sold in the open market in Lucknow and a man was arrested by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force.

The organisers have fixed another examination on May 11 only for those aspirants who were not able to appear on Sunday and restrained the students who have already appeared the exam.

My son appeared for AIEEE test at Dehradun on 1 May 2011. You may be knowing the harrowing experience of the candidates who spent three hours under the scorching Sun out side the test centre. As academicians, you all know that the candidates need to have examination temporament. That was precisely lost during the long wait. Some of the candidates had to go back to the places of nearby relatives due to lack of proper communication by the school and some others suffering hot scorching heat outside test centres and gave the exam in extreme conditions. After hearing about the leakage of paper, students were frustrated and would not give 100% in exams. Second test for a few candidates on 11 May means inequality and injustice.to the students.

By this time the question pattern is already known i.e. exam will be of 360 marks, questions of 4 marks each, only one question correct, knowing difficult level of each subject etc. Those candidates who will appear on 11th will have 10 days extra time for preparation with the new Q pattern. The mental condition of the candidates will be definitely better. It is going to weigh the candidates on a common yardstick to have a common All India Ranking. Do these things conform to the principle of natural justice? The rank of students can't be judged with two different sets of papers.

Keeping the Future of students in mind under these circumstances, it is hoped that you will consider my request and Re-conduct the same exam for all candidates as the money or any thing is NOT greater than their FUTURE.

two different question papers for the same test ranking is really unfair. moreover students are also getting an extra 10 days to prepare. this would atleast raise their marks by 20 scores(minimum). this is absolutely unfair for those who have appeared on 1st may.
therefore, i kindly request the authorities to take a re-test for all the candidates. this concerns the future of about 12 lakh students(who have worked hard for years) and should be taken into serious consideration.

This is my request to CBSE to give retest to all students as the conditions we faced on 1 May were horrible
and unfit for giving the largest exam of the nation(AIEEE).

a single test paper for all 12 lac candidates is the only option to compensate loss suffered by the candidates.

The Delhi high court today refused to stay the coming All India Entrance Examination (AIEEE) re-scheduled for May 11 for the candidates who failed to appear in it due to question paper leak on last Sunday.

A division bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justice Sanjiv Khanna rejected a plea for stay of the second phase of the examination but issued a notice to the HRD ministry and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) to file their replies by May 18 on a batch of petitions seeking a direction to the organisers to conduct a fresh examination for all the students.

The bench said in an order that the result of the AIEEE-2011 would be subject to the outcome of the petitions.

A group of AIEEE candidates, who had appeared for the exam after a delay of three hours due to question paper leak on May 1, has approached the high court for cancellation of the both the examinations(1st and 2nd phase) on the ground that the students were compelled to give the exam under adverse conditions and circumstances, which is violative of fundamental rights.

sir please make a aieee re-exmination because no matter evn if cbse make a paper of same level how can they make the mental condition similar to those who had to give exam on 1st may after 3 hours of tiredness and brain washing situation..plus those studnts alrdy know the pattern of paper and also have 10 days to wrk hard

sir please help us..we worked harder for the exam whole year..how could we bear such an injustice.this is bloody competetion.even a single mark differ ranks by thousand.it must be fair for all..just think only the engineering entrance(IIT/AIEEE) xams n IAS xams were fair in our country but if such an injustice will occur how could we will say that it is still fair..we are just intermediate level students..we even dont know how to protest against it and where to complain or it...my respected organisors please dont play with our future by avoiding our demand for the re exam..if the problem is of money then kindly ask the candidates to give examination fee dentse again....we know that it is not easy to conduct exam again but respected organisors you must have to rearrange it because it was yours department's fault that the paper was leaked..why should we suffer????? this is an injustice not only to lacs of candidates but even to their parents dream..please conduct the exam again....

i do not get informed about the registration for the reshedule(11th of may) AIEEE Examination.

i came to know this information on 6th of may (Evening Time) then i tried to register on the given site but i got the reply "Your Last Date Is Over".
i tried many numbers of CBSE again and again but they did not picked my call at all.

many students do not get informed about this as all students are not in touch with the internet same as like me

say aieee 2011 sucked a big time. there was no actual hoold on the examination. even there were reports that some centers alloted less time to students. such was in my case. after bearing the heat for 2 and half hours who the hell they think will be mentally fit to give the exam. even if the paper was postponed it should have been done for all the students so that all the students can give cofident competition and avoid transparency.
there is still time to come out of it and the exam should be conduted once again with proper control and discipline !
