We are mbbs students studying in shadan institute of medical sciences. This is to bring to your notice that our college authorities are collecting thousands of rupees more than that prescribed by the ntr univesity of health sciences, vijayawada.

1.the college is collecting annually rupees 8,000-15,000/- more than what the actual fees for a merit seat is . All the merit students have a fee receipt with them mentioning the excess amount taken by the college.

2.they are also collecting rupees 2,500-3,000/- for the hall ticket forms which costs nearly 1000/-

3.they also collect rs 7000/- for each subject if a student fails in a university exam where as the actual amount prescribed by the ntr univesity is less than rs 1,000/- . There are many other fees the college collects from the merit students.

On discussing these issues to the college authorities they say that the order has been given by the chairman and executive director of the college. If a student fails to pay the above fees, he or she is threatened by the college authorities that the student will not be allowed to write the final exam or the student will be failed in the university exam. This way our college authorities collect rupees 20,000-35,000/- extra annually from all the students on an average making it rupees 1.5 to 2 crores from the hundreds of students studying in the college. This money is mostly used in bribing govt officials. The students and their parents don't know whom to complain about this issue as there is no govt. Authority to look after excess fee collection by private medical colleges. There is no regulation made on this matter.

Our kind request to you is to look into this serious matter and make our college authorities especially the chairman and executive director not to collect extra amounts from the merit students as our parents are unable to afford the huge amounts and are facing a lot of problems . We will be extremely thankful to you
