Sub: Harassment & Cheating by an University.

Respected Sir,

May we have the privilege of introduction ourselves as three parents of three girl students from Arunachal Pradesh seeking your kind attention to our grivieness against a fraudulent university in the state of Rajasthan.

Being from a state like Arunachal Pradesh where we still do not have a full-fledged Engineering College, every parent in our state is compelled to look for such professional colleges/institutes/universities in other state of the country to get our children education in the better professional / technical courses available in the country. Thus we too had gone outside our state and admitted our 3 daughter in an University which had claimed to learn excellent centre for world – class education, named the ‘Singhania University’ situated at Pacheri Bari, Dist-Jhunjhunu, Rajasthan. We had admitted our daughter in the B.Tech. Courses of the University. The University had claimed to have great faculty, world-class infrastructure, great vision etc and we put our trust in their words and sent our children from the Eastern most state of the country to the Western most state of Rajasthan.

However just after a week we were forced to face nightmares which crashed all our hopes for our children. The University not only had problem in the infrastructure, academic staff and administration; it also didn’t have enough students to carry on any courses in its engineering branch. So, in order to save the future of our children we withdrew our children from this worthless University and transferred them to a better institution of the country.

The event which had taken place during these development had been clearly mentioned in our application to the Singhania University which was duly signed and accepted by the Rajasthan of the University. A copy of that application has been attached with this application.

The registrar of the Singhania University on had conveyed that a 10% of the fees would be deducted as per their University rules and the remaining fees would be returned to us.

Since that day we have tried more than a hundred times to get back our fees from the University. But the Registrar – Sh. Pawan Chaudhury would all the time offer numerous excuses to delay the payment and make us run after himself as well as the Dean of the University. May we mention that during this period even their Dean changed. Thereafter the Dean as well as the Registrar would play hide and seek game with us until the 3rd week of December when the registrar finally confirmed us that they would not return us a single money.

Sir we are very hurt by this treatment by this University and feel cheated by them. We had requested them continuously that being from such a distant state of the country it wasn’t possible for us to travel from our state again and again to communicate and do the required transactions with their authority. So, we had appointed a representative to continue the communication on our behalf with the University. Now, this representative is also full of anguish against the University for their mis -treatment and non-professional behaviors meted out to him. Therefore were similar cases of admission withdrawal lay other students from the Singhania University were by all the fees were returned to them. However its seems they have different attitude towards people from such distant state and so feel confident to cheat us in such a shameless way.

Sir, you have been recognized as a visionary leader, a great administrator who dreams to make this country reach greater heights in the academic field. Under your guidance and leadership the “Knowledge Commission” has come up with trend- setting proposal and plans for a bright future of the country. You dare to challenge the rustic system of the past and are moving with great degree of efficiency and speed to re-structure the educational world of the country.

Your recent decision to re-consider many fraudulent University “Deemed University” status proves that you are truly focused and committed to your goal. These words aren’t to win your support for our personal matter, but these are some of appreciation and sense of gratitude as parents of their country. We hope your dreams and visions are successfully implemented in our country.

Thus we here by seek your kind attention to consider such Universities like the “Singhania University” so that the future and lives of many students are saved from destruction and no other parents like us are cheated by any such University/ Institute.

As far as our case in concerned, we are aware of a rule under AICTE that any professional institute are allowed to cut a maximum of Rs.1000 as processing or administrative fees while returning back all the remaining fees paid by any students if he/she immediately withdraws his/her admission from the institute. These also have been many rulings by which the different institutions have been ordered to return the fees of the students.

But Sir, it will be hugely expensive for us to travel again and again all the way from a state like Arunachal Pradesh to Delhi or Rajasthan for these legal producers if we approach any court of law against the “Singhania University” either in Delhi or in Rajasthan.

So, we hereby seek your guidance and assistance so that we may be able to receive back the fees without these expensive legal procedure. Sir, we believe your ministry or the U.G.C will certainly have some rules and safeguards for parents like us who have been cheated by any institution. Through such safeguards, we believe that perhaps we may be able to receive back our fees just through any directive from your Ministry or The U.G.C. to the Singhania University.

Hence we seek your kind attention and prompt action which set an example to all such Universities/ Institutes activities with people from far-off place of the country.

Sir,

I agree with your anguish and observation that this lousy university (Singhania University) has cheated several students across the country with impunity . I had similar case of finally loosing Rs.20000 paid even after the university withdrew the program that i had enrolled for.

They are a bunch of jokers and rascals running this institution with the help of state administrators. There are 100s of better universities in India to choose from and i don't understand why one should choose a stupid university like Singhania University with inadequate infrastructure and lousy faculty members. Even though this university may not be fake just Google around and you will find that they have had history of taking students for a ride including having their Vice Chancellor arrested for fraud and malpractice. They have all accomplished this in such a short time. Voila!

As far as their praise mails are concerned it is from either struck students trying to salvage some pride or from university paid cronies posting on the internet on their behalf. One word of advice though ....STAY AWAY..........
