Respected Sir/madam,

I have been granted admission at ICFAI, Gurgaon and accordingly deposited fee of Rs. 80,000/- through bank draft number 044805 dated 21st march 2011. However, due to certain personal reasons, I have decided for withdrawal of admission & accordingly requested for refund of my admission fee (Rs 80,000/-) for PGPM Program 2011-13 through e-mail to ICFAI Hyderabad admission office(info@ibsat.org) first on 28th May 2011 than many times after it. My first mail was acknowledged by ICFAI Hyderabad and they stated that my request has been forwarded to admission office but later on 25th July 2011, they have replied that the admission fee paid was non-refundable as withdrawal request was received by them after May 15, 2011.
But as per the UGC Refund of fee directive (Ministry of HRD letter F.No 14-4/ 2007 U.3 (A)), a student can request for refund of his admission fee before a day of start of classes and a maximum of Rs 1000/- can be deducted and rest of the money will be returned to student. As per the communication from ICFAI, the regular classes were commencing from 26th June 2011 and prepatory classes were starting from 8th June 2011. So, I could have requested for refund of fee till 7th june or 25th june whereas I have requested through email on 28th May, therefore, my request was well within time in the light of Ministry of HRD's Order. However, ICFAI administration is denying my genuine claim on the ground of their discretionary Rule, which is clearly violative of UGC and Ministry of HRD Order.
I, therefore, request the concerned authorities that my fee may kindly be refunded at the earliest.

Thanks & Regards,
