when i joined the institute i was offered admission in MBA program.Then the college changed it to PGDBM prog after a week promising the students that it is equivalent to MBA.On the marksheets as well the college has mentioned PGDBM equivalent to MBA.

after passing out i wanted to get into academics and hence gave UGC NET-JRF exam and even qualified it.

But later on i came to know from UGC that my diploma was not equivalent to MBA as approved by AIU and hence I am not eligible.when i asked the same to my college authorities they told me that my course is just recognised by AICTE and is not equivalent to MBA and it was a mistake from their side to write it on the marksheets.

I feel cheated.What can i do in this case?
can i demand conversion of my diploma to degree in court?
I have supporting documents to prove the things.
