Subject:- Who ever is wrong ( Travelchacha or Air India) i paid the price.
Dear Sir/ Mam
Please read my case and do proper justice to me.
I booked a ticket by Travelchacha.com on 31-07-2010 from Hyderabad to Delhi, Jetlite Flight dated 25-09-2010, 16:15 flight, ( Booking refernce No. AMZWDT) but as i was expecting i didnt receive any E-ticket, i called the company and they said i will get my ticket soon, but i didnt get my ticket and i lost faith in the company. Then one day (13 days before the date of travel and 1.7 months after the date of booking) a lady called and asked that Jetlite flight wont be possible and if its fine if i can travel by Air India flight, same timings of departure and arrival. I was in a middle of a break of my classe and I said Yes, it would be fine with me if its fine with the company, then the lady said ok, she also said that she would have to send a paper ticket and she noted my college address. She did'nt educate me over the importance of that paper ticket and how mandatory it is to carry along, she did'nt fulfill her duty of Right to Information to the customer. I just thought that she is fulfilling her obligation of sending a normal ticket.
I checked with the hostel authorities but no speed post or courier was received. In the begining i called travelchacha and they replied that i will get it soon, but when i did'nt, I just called Air India to check if any booking has been made on my name, they then told and confirmed that my PNR no. is RIIVSR and there is no need for a paper ticket as i will get the ticket at the counter, as i always do when i travel. I cross checked with Air india's customer care thrice and each time she was sure that i will get my ticket at the counter, but to my full surprise the lady at the counter refused to give me the ticket and asked me for the paper ticket which i didnt have.Initially she did gave a printout of the ticket to me but she called me back and asked me to give it back to her, she realised somthing and asked me about the paper document. I called travelchacha but they were not able to coordinate with Air India either. The lady at the counter( Hyderabad, Airport) did'nt help the situation too. I paid 6891 Rupees and purchased a new ticket. It felt as if I was robbed.
I am still not able to understand why customer care misguided me. Why did'nt they tell me about the importance of that paper document. Why they were not aware of any such documents. Can you please check what the whole situation was.
How can a ticket already issued be cancelled and a new ticket be issued to the same customer.
Also the lady at Travelchacha's office declared the whole situation as my fault, as i should have called her to ask about the speedpost. She would never called back to check whether i got the ticket or not, or what is the speed post referrence number. No mail or anything in written. How can they expect a lot (almost everything) from a customer, even if i had received the ticket, what if i had forget to take it along, who will educate me about the importance of that document. I never carry any ticket along, everytime the lady at the counter gives me my ticket.
I was goin back home after 2 months of hard work to see my parents, but this case dilluted my happiness and i curse myself for buying the ticket from Travelchacha. Why did'nt i get the E-Ticket.
I don't have the resources to file a case against the companies, nor do i want to further trouble the peace of my mind.
I don't want to force them to apologise or compensate me either, but if the companies have any ETHICAL consciousness left in them and if they know their Ethical responsibility towards a customer then i expect to hear from them soon with proper justice.
Thank you.
unsatisfied customer,
Chirag Mangalick
