I had an Air-India ticket booked on 15.4.2010 (PNR RA8 N5G) for Delhi to Hyderabad (IC 942) scheduled at 9.50 A.M on 30th May. I reached the airport at 8.45 but could not given the boarding pass as the fight was overbooked and all passengers were reported in time (press clip of H.T. dt. 31.5.2010 is attached herewith)..
After getting my luggage security checked with security tag no. 05792758 & 05792759 dt.30.5.2010 went to the counter for issue of boarding pass, they said that I should wait for sometime to get the boarding pass. On insisting very much till 9.17, they sent me to a different counter. The also told me that these counters were not meant for flight to Hyderabad. I asked at all the counters, all of them refused to give me a boarding pass saying that this particular flight is not addressed here. The officials were extremely rude, not ready to listen and to answer. I kept on requesting at each counter to give me a boarding pass. At 9.20 they said that check-in is over for Hyderabad flight. They took my ticket at and wrote "Reported at 9.40" when it was still 9.27. When I said its still not 9.40 but only 9.27, they sent me to go to counter no. 1. All these facts can be verified from the videos recording of the security cameras for the said date.
At customer centre, people were not being addressed and pushed outside. In the entire check-in area, there were no queues and total mismanagement. People were pushing each other and there was total chaos.
When I went to customer care I was told to buy ticket for next flight. I asked them to accommodate me in the next flight to Hyderabad but they ignored me. After some time they sent me outside.
I know the fact only after HT reporter told me that the flight was over booked. Thats the reason why I was denied boarding pass. I wish you look into this matter and find out the culprits, punish them and investigate what is being done by the national airline which is going through turbulent time.
I missed my presentation in college and lose its credits reducing my grades. No official was ready to accommodate me in another flight, rather told me to buy executive class ticket for evening fight.
I have to return back to my home in Pitampura, Dehi for which I spent Rs.870/- in to and fro journey from home to airport and several hundred worth of rupees in mobile calls.
I had to book another flight for 2-6-2010 (IC 940) DEL-HYD (Dep: 6.40AM) PNR RG7K6C for Rs. 6365/- I missed precious study days and have to pay fine for late payment of fee which I have to deposit latest by 31.5.2010.
I was harassed for the fault of the Air India. My mental agony is beyond expression of words. I feel cheated as neither tne ticket amount was refunded, nor I adjusted in other flight forget compensation for all my sufferings.The Air- India had not replied to my RTI application and neither Civil Aviation Minister replied to my e-mail in this regard.
It is a total "gunda-gardi" of the loss making Govt carrier called "safed-hathi"
