1) at the Vienna airport there was a queue for check in and we were there. On enquiring from counter no. 95, the Emirates representative told us that there was an online check for both of us and accordingly we could stand in the shorter queue at counter 95. When we did so after 10 minutes, we were informed that there was no checkin online and hence we should go back to the previous queue. we had no option but to return and stand behind 15 passengers who had by then joined the queue. Even upon my complainig emirates represntative did not have the decency to apologize.
2) A greater shock was in store as when we boarded the flight and took our reserved seats 32 a and 32 b, which had been blocked online, we found that the seats had a hard extension cushion projecting which pressed against the thighs and our legs were dangling in air. The seats had been marked with the instructions that the extensions were to be folded during take off and landing but the staff on flight had no clue how to adjust them. Our repeated requests for change of seats was not agreed on grounds of it being a full flight and we had to bear inexcruciable pain for the next 5 hours or so.
Both me and my wife had a really harrowing experience and this is certainly not expected from a carrier of repute like-emirates. we have been flying wiyth emirates but am really sorry to comment upon the callous and unsympaathetic attitude exhibited by the ground and staff on flight.
I had sent my greivance to the customer care emirates who after 2 reminders sent a cursory mail saying that the concern had been noted. It is requested that a complaint may be lodged so that passengers may not be subject to harrowing experiences which we had to undergo.
regards,
Vijay Prakash
