Air India Express cancelled flights from Mumbai/Bahrain/Mumbai sector from 26/08/2010 due to operational reasons (no crews). Instead of making alternate arrangement to carry the passengers to their destination (like endorsement on other carriers), Air India Express just informed that the flights are cancelled and advised to collect full refund. As a desperate passengers, we had to make alternate booking with other carriers for which we have to shell out extra about 70% of the cost of refund done by AI Express.
Air India Express saved money but we lost.

Any way to claim compensation?. If so what are the documents needed. Or can the Consumer Court direct the Airlines to add compensation while refunding the fare?
