    Thumbs down Grievances against Travel Chacha

    I had booked my tickets from Travel Chacha on 12th August'10 for Ahmedabad- Delhi(27th Aug).I got the confirmation for the payment and a ticket containing the reference no. on my email address. But the ticket said that booking is in process. Till date I havent got the tickets and my travel date is 27th Aug'10 that is day after tomorrow. First of all, their call-centre nos. are not being picked and after 20-30 tries, if they pick up, they speak very rudely and bluntly and they only say that you will get the tickets the next day. So , i please request you to take some actions against them. My refernce no. is ANRATB. Please revert on my complaint.

    Angry Complaint against Travelchacha

    Today I received a mail from Travelchacha claiming that they are not a fake site. But they need to proove that by supplying the tickets to the customers. I am one of the sufferers.I booked 2 tickets on 9th August,2010(7:12 pm) for 18th October,2010. And still not yet received the tickets. Money is already debited from my account. Now they are saying that if seats are not available, then they will return the money back to our account. This doesn't proove their genuinity. What will the customer do with the money and without the ticket? They need to make optional arrrangements for this. I called them many times, few times it gets connected and whenever the call is being tranferred to some call center agent, after long waiting, it gets disconnected. And also each and every member of the call center is speaking differently each time when they are questioned. I didn't hear of this kind of site in my life. I mailed them 3 times but in vain. I don't know what to do. This is the first time I am posting such comments. I want my tickets, thats all. Then no grievances against Travelchacha.

    Dear Customer,

    By now many of you must have realized that Travel ChaCha.com is not a fraud site, as most of you must have got your tickets. It was our biggest mistake that without proper assessment on the capacity of the server and arrangements of extra manpower we have launched the cheaper fares offer to which the response was unexpectedly huge and we could not handle and many tickets were gone pending and could not be issued instantly. For this mistake however we have suffered a lot and still suffering. Because of delay in issuing the tickets, the ticket fares jumped and we had to honor and issue the tickets at higher prices which is a huge loss to us.

    That’s not all, we have lost the faith and trust of many of our esteemed customers like you and we have got famous by a name “fraud site” as per the reviews posted on internet in last one months time.

    Many of you must have seen that the prices printed on the ticket is much higher to the amount you have paid to us at the time of booking, so the company which is paying such a huge difference of amount to our customers just for the seek of the commitment and faith cannot be a “ FRAUD OR CHEATERS ”

    We first wanted to clarify that we are not fraud, however we did a mistake and suffering from that. If we are fraud, we would have ran away or shut down our site or office. We have spent crores of rupees to build the website, have spent huge money on TV commercials, Radio, newspapers and will not be running with your money.

    It is a humble request that please do not post negative comments on the internet or consumer forum and those who have already posted it and have received the tickets , may we request them to write again that we are not fraud, we are not cheaters.
    For you it will take few minutes, but for us it concerns a lot. We wanted to regain the confidence and that is only possible if you help us.

    We are fully functional and trying our level best to issue the pending tickets and need your support.

    In some cases we might not have received the payment due to technical errors however the payments might still be debited from your accounts/credit cards. In that case the payment will be auto reversed to the respective account / credit card. In such cases we are unable to issue the tickets for which we deeply regret for the inconveniences caused to our customers.

    Once again we apologize and please note that it is a matter of time only but everyone will be getting the tickets.

    Also as we are issuing the tickets on priority for the close dates and if your travel dates are not close & you do not want to wait for few more days for getting the tickets, please send us a request for cancellation & we'll process your full refund.

    Travel Chacha claims that they are taking so long because of their low cost and cheap air tickets booking. I think they themselves are cheap.

    How can they not mail tickets or even book tickets for those whose travel date is just in 2 days ??? This is really annoying and irritating.

    I think we all need to get along and take some serious actions against this fraudsters.

    1 basic thing I dont understand is.. When they claim (as mentioned in mail they send) that they want to retain customers,why are they not stopping the bookings from the site yet? Why are they still allowing bookings??

    Like any other genuine site why are they not stopping booking with messege "SERVER DOWN"!!

    Just stop the bookings if you cant handle the load and provide the tickets to those who have already booked.

    Angry Fraud Travel chacha

    A bunch of fools, made me wait 3 days for tickets to be issued, sent me payment confirmation mail, calls me for payment failure , booking stands cancelled due to payment failure,my banker confirms me with approval code that payment is collected by travel chacha and I end up booking tickets at higher rates.

    These frauds have taken payment also, didnt issue the tickets, over and above I had to buy frsh tickets at much higher fares.

    Hi All,

    I had also booked my tickets from Travel Chacha. For a change I have got something different to post.

    After a lot of follow up's with them I have finally got my tickets after 25 days. Just wanna share with you all how to get your ticktes from them.

    First thing is if they have not send you your tickets means that they havnt even booked you wid airlines. Same was the case with me. I called up airlines and asked them for booking with my name on my travel date. They said "No booking with this name"..

    Even I called up Travel Chacha helpline.. But to no help. Just kept increasing my STD bill..

    There were no responses to any of the mails too.

    But,then on 26th Aug I send them a mail with a Warning. I asked them to send me tickets within 24 hrs and threathened them to take them to consumer court/Cyber cell if they dont issue tickets. I also pasted a letter in that mail and told them below is the complain letter I will be mailing at consumer court if I do not get my tickets in 24 hours.


    You wont believe that mail was replied within 30 mins and read as "Sir, We ensure you to process your tickets immediately."


    The next day morning on 27th Aug I had received SMS that my tickets are booked. They send me a mail asking me to check tickets. To add more they even called me up to ask if I have received the tickets and if they were proper.

    Its hard to belive such behaviour from Travel Chacha.

    So my advise to you all is to do the same thing. Just threaten them of taking the matter to consumer court and I am sure you will have your tickets handy. I never knew consumer court forum is taken so seriously. It rocks!!

    Apart from sending mails to query@travelchacha.com also send them to guneshwori.philem@travelchacha.com who seems to be their manager or something. This person had called me and issued my tickets.

    Yah, I did the same thing. I mailed them with a warning that if they don't deliver my ticket within 24 hrs., I will be taking them to Consumer court, and Surprisingly I got my tickets within 1 hour. This worked.

    Thank you so much for the inputs as after reading all these I am definitely not going to avail any of this
    portal's service.

    But there is something that I have noticed after reading, that they have also done a mistake ( a big one) by getting back to you in 30 mins & issuing the ticket in 24 hrs., because even after all these prompt action instead of being very grateful to them but its the otherwise.

    Surprised travelchacha has still not posted any reply, there was a time when I had to run after an online travel agent who had never paid me my refund amount and would not even bothered to reply mails.

    You seem not satisfied even after getting your work done instead you still throwing out all your
    frustrations, nothing is written about the good work they have done although it was a bad starting, a line at least. It would have shown the good in you.

    I think some ppl have been lucky that there threat of complaining to the consumer cell has worked...
    not me... as usual these ppl continue to be lousy as ever in their customer services... Pls see the mail threads below... unfortunately I have 2 transactions stuck with them --- one of refund and the other like most ppl of booking tickets ----

    What I will suggest is stick to getting the ticket b4 travel time... coz refund is something you will not get till you are on you deathbed or have spent equivalent amount of money on STD calls

    Hi Guneshwori,

    I got your id from your communication but I have no expectations from you with regard to you even reading this full mail leave alone replying to it.

    The problem at your end is not only the fact that you suffered a technological setback but also the totally apathy with which your call center team has been handling the issue as well as the normal course of business.

    Take for instance my case, I had been doing regular business with you for last 1 year with transactions worth over Rs 60,000. My recent transaction was with booking reference ANQIXJ, which happened probably during the time ur server crashed. Of course I haven't received my ticket yet as my travel is scheduled for 10th of September. For once I can understand and sympathize with your institution hoping that I will atleast get my ticket before the travel date.

    But for the past 2 weeks I have called up your call center and every time I have been given a different reason for delay. This will obviously cause suspicion in the minds of customers. Another very interesting thing your team does is that you people have no concept of logging customer calls and maintaining a reference number for the complaints. So when I ask for the same I am not given any and provided with evasive answers. This is topped up by the fact that if I insist on getting a reference number I am told that this will be mailed or we will call you up. Needless to say that never happens.

    My biggest pain however has been my issue with your accounts department which has been pending for 2 months. You have very vehemently declared that people who are not willing to wait should request for cancellation and you will process the refunds. Do you have any freaking idea how long a refund process takes in your organization?

    Picture this ---- My booking ID AIDJKQ: I had requested a refund post cancellation of the tickets on June 18, 2010.
    Well I believe two and a half months are decently long time for an organization which proclaims that it has spent crores for its customers to process a 7,000 rupee claim if it has the intent too. But what I have been facing is in the appended mail below.

    So before raising a sympathy cry among the public please do try to see what your customers are facing and let me tell you it has nothing to do with the technical snag that you have experienced.

    When you will look at my history of previous transactions with you, you might realize (although I seriously don't think you even care a dime to check that back in your database) that I have been a regular customer with you for the past one year with transactions of over Rs 60,000 with you.

    The one thing I have realized is that doing business with you comes with a serious caveat --- "trust us to deliver as long as everything goes on well, but help you god if things take a turn for the unexpected and your fate rests in the hands of our customer service"

    I am pleased to inform you that even my 16th call today has been received with similar high adherence to your customer service standards.
    The call lasted for 15 minutes of which I was on hold for 8 mins
    I was very courteously told - "Oh 2 months is a long period" but your refund request has been sent for processing only today. (I am wondering if Radhika's mail below was a doctor's prescription to reduce my suffering?)
    When I said that I have already been told this a month before, I was assured - "Refund hai sir ho jayega 1-2 din mein"
    I told him that I need some sort of reference number which can prove that either the refund is in process or that this request/complaint has been recorded. I was then made to understand that there is no such system in place where formal requests or complaints are lodged.
    Finally in an act of generosity, I was told that the person responsible will be asked to give me a call and a mail on the same will be sent to me in a day.
    As I am only too aware of how this has been working for the past 2 months, I decided that I must drop a mail. Who knows if this mail is not outright deleted from records somebody who cares for this business may actually read and decide to do something if not for my sake then may be for his own.

    Angry Travelchacha-biggest fraud

    I wish I had read or googled bfore I bought tickets from these frauds. They still havent confirmed the tickets and their 24hrsx 7 days customer support is big joke. I asked for the refund and still havent received my refund either. I am going to complain on each and every site so thate they go out of business and not dupe other customers like me. It is costing me a huge bill and headache over nothing.

    I agree with your comments because recently i have booked kerala tour package from travelchacha.com at very affordable prices. It was 3n/4dys package & all the facilities & services are to the point.

    I don't think they are wrong. I think some one intensionally writing bad reviews about them.

    Travelchacha is the best company to go ahead.
