I was flying from London Heathrow to Kolkata via Mumbai.
I am kingfisher gold card member and had around 50 kgs of luggage which was checked in at LHR based on request.
On arrival to mumbai airport, I was told that my connecting flight has been cancelled. I was stranded in airport for around 2 hours and finally I was given ticket for jet airways. Since I was carrying 50kgs, I was asked to first go to kingfisher terminal (in mumbai airport, jet and kingfisher have different terminals) and speak to guest care executive.
At Kingfisher terminal, I was again made to wait for long time and finally the relationship officeer that I cannot all the luggage I am carrying and need to pay for anything excess of 20kgs.
He was extremely rude and clearly mentioned that I can do whatever I want and if I create fuss then I would miss the jet flight and then kingfisher wont do anything.
Finally, when I told his that as per IATA rules, If I am an international transfer and I cannot be stopped from carrying any amount of luggage which has been checked in, he finally agreed to send the excess in seperate flight the next day.
The executive was extremely rowdy and really made me suffer physically and mentally.
The main thing is that I was coming back from my brothers wedding - (my brother and bhabhi were in Jet airwarys business (LHR - DEL - KOL) , my 2 uncles were on Kingfisher (LHR - DEL - KOL) and I was on kingfisher LHR - MUM - KOL.
I was carrying all gifts to be presented to guests waiting to welcome the bride and groom back at home but even on request the executive refused to allow me to carry the luggage with me.
I had to face severe embarrasment and was mentally harrased by the kingfisher.
It has been 3 months and I am fighting with Kingfisher and finally I got one email from them. But on my further requests, they refuse to respond or speak to me.
This is going out of hands. I want to move to consumer court.
Please help
Thanks
Mangalam
