Hi, I was travelling from Chennai to Kolkata via Bangalore on the 10 of August 2011. I chose the via Bangalore flight because it was cheaper than a direct flight by about Rs 2500 so i didnt mind the 4 hr halt at Bangalore. Since I was relocating to Kolkata so i Knew that I would have luggage in excess of 20kg. But on the ticket it said that extra luggage charges were subject to local rules and when i referred to the website they provided a local number to call and enquire about local charges. So imagine my surprise when at the airport i had to pay a fine of Rs 400 per kg extra....and since i had an extra 20kgs so i had to pay an extra Rs 8000 when the ticket was only of Rs 4000. When i complained strongly they said that it was as per airline policy. So my question is that should not they mention this charge clearly on the ticket instead of just robbing us at the last moment???
