    Thumbs down Lufthansa Airline: Delay in Refund, No proper response

    Lufthansa Airlines.

    I had booked tickets on Lufthansa Website [Mumbai - Detroit Return, Reservation code: 4EPT4K and 4E5UJV]. Travel date was 11th May 2010. I cancelled the tickets on 19th April 2010. Its been close to 8 weeks now that refund amount has not been credited in credit card account. Your policy says it takes 4-5 weeks for refund.

    I tried calling your call center at GURGOAN, their only response was to write mail to 'esales.delhi@dlh.de' as they look after cancellations for tickets booked online. The esales team was reminded on 17th may and 25th May 2010 but no response. Its only after the issue was escalted at your call center [with Mr. Kuldeep Singh], i got an reply from Ms Swati Vashist that refund process is still under process..Suprisingly, there is no contact number to get in touch with this team...its only email communication with delayed or no responses. I have written a mail to 'crelation.in@dlh.de' but no response. I have sumbitted complaint on your website [reference number 21027373]..

    May I please know the exact status of this refund process.

    1. On what date will the refund be credited in my account?
    2. What is the cancellation amount?
    3. I have already incurred Rs.1200 as interest. I request you to take this point and amount into consideration during calculating my refund.
    4. I will have to face daily interest on my credit card outstanding amount. If delayed for few more days...it can go upto Rs. 5000.

    Lufthansa was our preferred airlines...but this incident of poor customer service has changed our opinion.

    Default Do not fly Lufthansa

    Lufthansa ranks poorest in my rankings for customer service.

    They attempted to charge me $100 dollars for an error in the system that omitted my last name for a $60 dollar ticket. This was because it was company 'policy'.

    As an avid traveler and someone who has flys thousands of miles a year, I've never had such a bad experience with customer service. I will avoid any future purchases with Lufthansa and never fly with them again.

    I warn all travelers to stay away as there are better options for flying.

    Default Online reservation question- Confirmation code 26JH78

    Hi,

    My name is Gopi Krishna, I have made a reservation for my mother on Lufthansa airlines (details below), while booking the reservation, the online system did not accept the complete first name, hence I had to enter part of first name in the first name field and rest in the middle name.

    My mother's full first name is RANGAMANI, however it is showing RANGA on the reservation iternary,the last name specified is correct however.

    Wanted to check if this is going to create an issue for her during the travel ? Is it possible to update the first name on the iternary?

    Please advise.
