Dear Sir

I have the following complaint with Spicejet and am enclosing the details vide the letter I wrote to their Realtionship Manager Prathima Rai:

"Dear Pratima

Here are the details of the incident..we hope no traveller experiences what we went through..and we have decided to ensure as far as possible that this won't happen again in a democratic society.

Members of family flying to Goa…..self, wife, son and daughter in law, 2 year old grandson and one other young member of the family.
The flight SG-263 from Delhi was to take off a 2.30…..was delayed to 4.45a and finally took off at 5.30.

We realize that delays happen, and accepted the same, however when going on a holiday, every moment counts

On arrival at Goa, we waited for our baggage and were informed that two samsonite cases were missing….and may be on the next Delhi flight. We waited for the next flight….still no baggage. The only member of staff available was the gentleman who receives the luggage. He was very helpful and managed to locate the luggage in Guhati. We were informed that we would receive the same the next evening…..in fact it reached us at 9.30 pm, the next day, exactly 24 hours later. The duty manager was not very concerned and only came when all the baggage was traced.

The time we left the airport was approx. 9.30. We by this time were exhausted after all the waiting and had a very unhappy child whose milk tin was also in one of the cases…

….the discomfort levels were very high. Going into Goa now did not just mean getting to a hotel and relaxation but also meant stopping at a market to try and find clothing for the two adults and milk of the child….when we reached our hotel it was 11-11.30pm.

My wife suffers from arthritis…. limited seating is available at the airport….
The inconvenience and trauma caused by Spicejet is appaling..and they shoukld take the accountability..The least that Spicejet can do is not scrounge on the expenses spent by the victims of their mismanagement..but to honour it.
The cost for the family to habitate the situation is Rs.20,120/- (shall scan and send the bills)since there was no hope that the baggages would be retrieved and sanity is to be restored.

The baggages arrived the next day at 8pm after constant follow up by the undersigned whereas there was no inclination for Spicejet to call back to inform the status of my luggage.

I now await Spicejet's response to my request of reimbursement of the expenses incurred due to the unavailability of my luggages -failing which I would be compelled to raise this to the next level of legality, consumer redressal forum and finally the media for justice to prevail.

2 pieces of luggage-1)soft top Samsonite-blackish greay bcolour
2)hard top Samsonite-silver colour"

I seek your help in getting the above compensation of Rs.20,120/-.which is the expense I incurred due to the mismanagement of Spicejet. The bills have already sent to them and they hav refused to pay for the same and offered discounted vouchers for buying tickets from Spicejet-which does not serve any purpose or compensation considering the fact that we will never fly this airlines again.
Thank you and looking forward to justice.
