    Thumbs down Airtel broadband installation delays

    i have submitted the CEF form with ref#1222102 on 2nd Sep to an agent along with one month rental of 650 Rs. I have not received a single call from Airtel so far, and every time i have been following up like a mad guy. Customer care, simply takes a request and does nothing. Nodal office is useless (to reach nodal office you need your airtel phone number - which is the whole problem).,

    I am posting on 12th Sep after my call to customer care, and they said it will be done by today;

    Is there any way to Sue airtel for this kind of fraud or false promises.., I was told connection will be ready in 3 days.

    Hi Team,

    I, Kanika Saini, own an Airtel Broadband Connection which is under my brother's name, Aditya Saini. The phone number is 011-45694107.

    The problem I am facing is the intermittent disconnection of internet. Sometimes, the internet works well, however, sometimes it does not at all. Either I use wireless or wired at home. I noticed that the connection wire outside my home is hanging out and may be this is the cause that sometimes the internet does not work at all. It needs to be fixed.

    For this, I had been calling Airtel (121) since 13th August every now and then. They kept promising me to send some engineer to my place to fix it but no one saw us till today.

    Then, I thought of complaining about 121 Customer Service by dialing 198. I received couple of executives on phone and they all promise the same thing that the engineer will visit soon and I will receive a call back from the Technical Department before resolving this case. But, add to the surprise, they close this case every now & then. I called in between several time and also on 12th sep. and 13th Sep my case was closed stating that the Engineer, by the name of Sanjeev & Sonu, visited our place and they met my brother Aditya and found the problem was my modem which needs to be replaced by a customer because airtel do not support faulty modems.

    Just to let you know, my modem is working fine as I am still using the same internet connection to complain about the same. Had the modem been faulty, I would not have been writing to you here. Secondly, the engineer met my brother who is not in Delhi for the past one year. Thats how airtel reaches to customer homes.

    Then I called on 13th Sep. and the executive told me the case is resolved mentioning the same comment. I told him the story and he assured me on the same thing. I, unfortunately trusted him for the same. On 14th, when I called, they again told me that my case had already been closed yesterday, within 2 hours, mentioning the same comments as Sanjeev has visited us and our modem is faulty. I re-openned the case and told them not to close it without asking me. The executive (Vipin) again assured me they he will not. I was satisfied with his assurance this time also.

    Surprisingly, I again called in today and the executive, Hussain, informed me that the case is already resolved yesterday and he again tried assuring me on the same. I asked him to get any manager or senior on line as I want to talk to them. The smart guy put me on hold for like half an hour and then disconnected me. Then, I kept calling 2 more times and it was the same story. I am tired of being handling like this with Airtel's Support.

    I tried reaching Mr. Gurmeet S Sandhu on 011-41614777 but it never lead me to. I then tried the co-orporate cust. care (enterprise) and the person Devesh heard the story again and connected me with someone names Rohain. He now assured the same thing that I will receive a call back within 4 hours now and the issue will be resolved and they will not close the case until I inform them.

    When it comes to sending a bill and receiving payments, trust me airtel calls like 5 times a day to know the status and the mode by which we paid the amount. However, when customer yells for their right, Airtel becomes deaf.

    I am feeling sad to see how a big firm like airtel responds to its customer. One more disappointment from this request, I will just disconnect this connection. I know that will not make any difference to Airtel but it will make certainly a difference to its reputation when I will neither use any airtel connection nor recommend anyone to use the same.

    Your broadband connection is not efficient to work......n
    i've registered by paying 500 rs. on march/27/08.Sales Officer Mr.Satish kumar from guindy office informed me that i will get the connection within 3 days.on 3rd day from day of registration some guy came to provide cabling but overhead not underground cabling, he promised me that i will get broadband connection on 31st march when the guy came for installation.Days passed by nobody provided me neither connection for phone or broadband connection.i enquired the call center and they simply place on hold then they disconnects the phone.this is what airtel customer center does.i'm frustated that i paid 500 rs without proper service at the time of installation.no proper information from ur customer care center or neither people wont inform.still i dont have connection, whenever i call the sales officer, he will not respond.my bill # / customer account #is 688985 dtd 27/03/08.
    I think this complaint details will resolve the problem and take necessary action for the people who dont know how to talk with call center. my mob# 9444130464, 9840930536.
    I had a good opinion abt airtel, unfortunately i've to tell all my collegues and friends that it is very poor service even at the begginging of service.
